At the age of 98, Mr. Ye Jiaying is a famous Chinese classical poetry artist At home and abroad, and is a legendary scholar who takes Chinese culture as the foundation of his life.

The author Ye Yancai was encouraged by his aunt Mr. Ye Jiaying, and on the occasion of Mr. Ye Jiaying's 96th birthday in 2020, he wrote and recalled the curtain past of decades of deep love between his aunt and nephew, and told Mr. Ye's world of family and friendship with his personal experience. Mr. Ye Yancai and Mr. Ye Jiaying, who teach in the Chinese Department of Kitakyushu City University in Japan, are not only close aunts and nephews, but also chinese literature researchers, who have been deeply cared for and influenced by Mr. Ye Jiaying in the process of growing up and governing, and are also the witnesses and participants of important moments such as Mr. Ye Jiaying's invitation to return to China to teach, found the Institute of Chinese Classical Culture of Nankai University, and travel with Chinese and foreign cultural celebrities, and have a deep understanding and sincere feelings for Mr. Ye Jiaying.
The full text and pictures of the book have been reviewed by Mr. Ip Ka Ying, and many of its contents are publicly disclosed for the first time, which is also a precious addition to Mr. Ip Ka Ying's oral autobiography "The Dream of Red Lotus". In the preface to this book, Mr. Ye Jiaying wrote affectionately: Originally, he (the author Ye Yancai) knew more about my family life than outsiders, and he could be said to be the only person in our family's descendants, whether they studied Chinese major or taught Chinese to foreign students, they can be said to be the only person who is close to me and can understand my "aspirations to return to China to teach". He is quick in his thinking and has a wide range of insights, and as soon as he writes, he can't stop himself from writing. He earnestly and diligently supplemented some of my previous accounts with his memories, and I was greatly touched by these accounts of people and events.

1. The Ye family
Ye Tingqigong, whom I called "Great Grandpa", gave my family a generational arrangement, a total of eight characters, that is, "Jiayan Warning World, Yi Sex Shu Body", which can be passed down for eight generations. Therefore, Mr. Ye and my father and uncle are "Jia" generation, and my generation is "Yan" generation.
Later, Mr. Ye revised the typography of the generations set by my grandfather to "Jiayan Warning, Yixing Shu body", in which the word "xing" must be read as xìng ( xìng ), which is the meaning of character.

Second, the sister and brother have a deep affection
My father wrote in his notes: "In 1926, I was born, and I was two years younger than Miss Ying. From my birth until 1948, when Sister Ying went to Nanjing to get married, it took more than 20 years, and the two of us studied, lived and played together, that is, the engagement of my sister and brother-in-law, me and my lover, and it was also done in the same year (1947) in the same place - "LaiJin Yuxuan" in Zhongshan Park. Therefore, we have established a deep relationship between our sisters and brothers. ”

Third, the famous modern translator Li Jiye
It was because of Mr. Li Jiye's strong recommendation and invitation that Mr. Ye had a fate with Nankai for nearly half a lifetime.
When Mr. Ye was still studying in the Department of Chinese foreign languages at Fu Jen University, Mr. Li was already teaching in the Department of Foreign Languages of Fu Jen University, and he was a good friend of Mr. Gu Sui, who graduated from the Department of Foreign Languages of Peking University. In 1948, when Mr. Ye arrived in Taiwan, his teacher, Mr. Gu Sui, wrote to her and instructed her to visit several teachers who taught at NTU, including Mr. Li, and attached his business card to the letter.

Fourth, the world-famous physicist and Nobel Prize winner in physics Yang Zhenning
On June 9, 1992, Nankai University held a large-scale celebration for Mr. Yang's 70th birthday. At the meeting, Mr. Yang brought the four poems that Mr. Ye had given him, and had asked someone to write them down with a brush, and insisted on inviting Mr. Ye to speak a few words on stage. At that time, Mr. Ye said: The people who came to mr. Yang Zhenning's "birthday party" today are all physicists, including Mr. Yang's classmates, colleagues, and fellow scholars, and I am a student Chinese, but I can recognize a "semi-identical" relationship with Mr. Yang, because the Chongde school he went to and the Duzhi school I went to were brother and sister schools, the boys' school was called "Chongde", the girls' school was called "Duzhi", and when he went to Chongde School, it was when I went to Duzhi School.
At the end of December 2008, Mr. Yang invited Mr. Ye to visit his home and then went to tsinghuayuan "Asuo" restaurant for lunch. I happened to be in Beijing at that time, and my aunt took me with me. On that day, at the beginning of the winter snow, the Tsinghua campus was white, looking extremely elegant and clean, which was the first time in my life that I had entered Tsinghua.
