The sunroof glass of the new car suddenly burst

On November 4 last year, Mr. Che Chuang placed an order on the Ideal Car APP and purchased an "Ideal ONE" car, which was sold for 338,000 yuan. On November 26, Mr. Zhang completed the procedures such as balance payment insurance and picked up the car the next afternoon. It was a happy thing to pick up a new car, but what he didn't expect was that less than a month after picking up the car, the vehicle suddenly had an accident while driving.

Mr. Zhang said that on the afternoon of December 24, he drove to pick up his son from school. When the vehicle drove to Xingchen Street in Shahekou District, the sunlight sunshade heard a "rattling" sound, as if the glass shards were placed in the cup and shaken. Mr. Zhang noticed the abnormality and stopped to check it out, which surprised him. It turned out that the skylight glass had burst and a large hole had appeared, thanks to the fact that the sun blind was in a state of being pulled up, and with it "pocketing", the sharp fragments did not fall. "When the glass burst, my son sat in the back row, fortunately he didn't hurt the child!"

The sunroof glass is not subject to external forces

The chat records show that the after-sales service personnel said that Ideal Automobile is not a national forensic institution, so it cannot provide documents or instructions in the form of identification. However, because the sunroof glass is tempered glass, in the absence of external force, there may be two reasons for the broken skylight glass: one is that the tempered glass itself has a certain probability of self-explosion; the other is that the glass is "unevenly subjected to cold and heat", causing the glass to produce stress deformation, resulting in glass fragmentation.

The reporter found that there are also car owners in other places who have encountered a similar situation. On July 30 last year, a female owner of an ideal car posted a video on the Douyin platform saying that she was driving in the rainstorm, but the sunroof glass suddenly exploded, and it was loud and thought it was thunder. "There was no falling object under the elevated road, and it exploded on its own, breaking into a glass ballast." The video showed that the sunroof glass cracked into multiple pieces like a map, and the female owner said that the water leaked into the car. When she posted the video, the location was displayed in Shanghai.

The two sides disagreed on the handling of the incident

"Every time you get on the bus, you have to look at the skylight and the sun blinds, and when the temperature is low, you don't open it." Mr. Zhang said that the incident had caused psychological effects on himself, and he was afraid that there would be problems again. At the same time, Mr. Zhang also said that the car has a brake noise, the mileage is lower than the advertised length, etc., of which the brake noise has been repaired by the ideal car, and the problem still exists. "The sunroof is replaced with a new car, and the maintenance record depreciates the vehicle." Mr. Zhang proposed to the after-sales service personnel to return the vehicle or give economic compensation, but the two sides did not eliminate differences.

The chat records show that the after-sales service personnel suggested that if the owner insists on his own demands and hopes to solve the process quickly and effectively, he can deal with the problem through the form of third-party dispute handling recommended in the "Three Guarantees of Household Automobile Products Regulations", and gives specific channels.

He said that the after-sales staff has been actively communicating with the owner with great sincerity and seeking a solution acceptable to both sides to solve the matter, but the owner's expectations for economic compensation are too high, resulting in the two sides failing to negotiate. "For the compensation requirements of tens of thousands of yuan, the manufacturer tried its best to deal with the matter from the perspective of serving customers, and proposed a care policy for giving 15,000 yuan of fuel cards, but the owner did not accept it." The staff said that the after-sales staff will continue to negotiate with the owner.
