However, after the car was used for half a year, the words "48-volt on-board power system failure" and the icon of "engine fault light" suddenly appeared on the dashboard, and it disappeared from time to time and for no reason. What's even stranger is that the vehicle doesn't show any failure on the hardware.
According to Mr. Sun, in less than two years, the same fault has occurred five or six times, and there have been 5 times sent to the 4S shop for inspection and maintenance. At first, the 4S store also adopted a variety of maintenance methods such as battery replacement and software updates, but the problem was never solved. Most recently in January, warning text and icons appeared again. This has had a great impact on Mr. Sun's normal use of the car.

If it's just a software problem, can the vehicle be driven on the highway? Mr. Zong said: "It doesn't matter, it definitely doesn't matter, you don't have to worry about this, I don't mean the car with problems, or that this has hidden dangers, I let you continue to drive long distances."

The latest reply given by the manufacturer is that it is expected that a final version of the upgrade software will be issued at the end of the first quarter and the beginning of the second quarter to fundamentally solve the problem and eliminate the fault. But Mr. Sun, who had lost trust, shook his head after hearing the plan. The 4S shop refused Mr. Sun's request for car replacement and return.

Failure of the on-board power system

The reporter saw through the China Net automobile quality complaint platform that the Mercedes-Benz C260 model had the same fault problem in many places across the country. Among them, from May 6, 2021 to January 5, 2022, of the 50 complaints of the model, 25 were faults in the 48-volt on-board power system and the failure of the engine with bright yellow lights, accounting for 50%.
Many complaining netizens also said that when the fault prompt text and the yellow light of the engine failure are lit, it is also accompanied by the phenomenon of body shaking, no power output when stepping on the throttle, and frustration in starting with refueling.
