In recent years, relying on the Shanghai Cultural Development Foundation and the Shanghai Xiqu Art Center Art Development Foundation, the theater has cultivated a large number of high-end talents in opera art and established a high-quality actor echelon. Among them, a group of outstanding graduate students of the "Youth Research Class" and the winners of the "Qingjing Competition" who are full of vigor and vitality have become the mainstays of the opera stage.

This year, the theater continued the overall strategy of "branch returning" and the talent training mechanism of "one person, one policy", and in this batch of echelons, 10 outstanding actors were selected as the top talent training objects, and tailor-made for them the sea charm and focus on the Beijing Classics - the series of top talents of the Shanghai Peking Opera House. The cultivation of Peking Opera talents is a long-term systematic project, which needs to be actively carried forward by the previous generations of artists to carry forward the spirit of "passing on the help" and the systematic inheritance mode of "oral transmission and heart teaching".

In 2016 and 2018, the theater planned and implemented the "Famous Teachers Passing on the Arts" project, and over the years more than ten famous artists have taught classic plays and presented them on the stage. This time, the theater specially hired national famous artists and famous teachers to carry out the "one-to-one" teaching of the classic repertoire of the genre to 10 outstanding actors, helping them to fully grasp the genre table acting method and genre style, and highlight their personal artistic expertise, so that they can form a distinct personal artistic style while inheriting the traditional classics.
