Hu Zhongliang, born in 1942 in Hongya, Sichuan, began to study painting at the age of six, graduated from Leshan Art Division in 1961, and later studied under the famous Chinese painting master Mr. Li Qiongjiu for a long time. At the same time, he studied at the Correspondence University of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting until graduation. He lived in Beijing since 1996.
He is currently a member of the Calligraphy Art Research Association of the China Association of Calligraphy, the Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Chinese Calligraphers Association, a member of the Working Committee of Calligraphers and Painters of the New Literary and Art Group of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, a member of the Sichuan Artists Association, a director of the Chinese Calligraphers and Painters Association, a director of the China Literati Artists Association, an art committee member of the Cultural Market Research Center of the China Academy of Arts, an art consultant of the Zhongyuan Calligraphy and Painting Research Institute, a special senior honorary consultant of the New Shenzhou Art Academy of the Republic of Singapore, and an honorary president of the Yangzhou Bade Calligraphy and Painting Institute. Honorary Deputy Director of the Wu Daozi Research Museum and Senior Director of the Chinese Calligraphy Creation Center, he was approved by the World Calligraphy and Painting Artist Identification Committee and the expert group, and was rated as a first-class artist.
He has been working tirelessly for decades, painstakingly approaching the pool, and combining poetry and painting. The work is magnificent, simple and beautiful. Rich in connotation, there is a strong interest in Shuxiang life, forming its own painting style.
The evaluation of the People's Daily is: the combination of north and south painting styles, the combination of tradition and modernity, the combination of Chinese and Western painting methods, he has participated in many national exhibitions, and won gold and silver awards, and has been included in more than 30 albums and dictionaries such as "Chairman Mao Memorial Hall Collection of Rare Calligraphy and Paintings", "Peking University Centennial Celebration Calligraphy and Painting Invitation Collection", "Collection of Chinese Hundred Masters of Painters", "Selected Chinese Art from 1949 to 2000" and so on. More than 300 works have been published in more than 30 publications such as China Art Daily, China Painting and Calligraphy Daily, Art Observation, and People's Daily. His writings include the brush and ink of Chinese painting, and the Q&A on the knowledge of Chinese painting. The "Hu Zhongliang Landscape Painting Collection" and Hu Zhongliang Landscape Painting Art VCD edited by the China Artists Association were published and distributed, and reported by domestic authoritative media. CCTV's first, second, and fourth programs broadcast the station's feature film "Clouds in the Hometown - Landscape Painter Hu Zhongliang."

In August 2002, his calligraphy and painting works won the silver medal in the "Second Wu Daozi Art Fund Exhibition" and the "Fourth Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Grand Prix", and his works were included in the "Chinese Contemporary Calligraphy and Painting Masterpieces Classic", and were permanently collected by the organizers.
In 2006, he won the "Best Creation Award" of the China Artists Exchange Association.
In October 2013, his works were selected for the 7th National Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition and won the gold medal of this exhibition.
