1. Tobermorey Distillery in Scotland launches 24-year single malt whisky

Tobermory Distillery on the island of Mull, Scotland, has launched a 24-year-old single malt whisky as the first product of the distillery's Hebridean Series. Aged 24 years, it includes nine years of maturation by Gonzales Byass, one of Spain's most famous shirries, with an alcohol content of 52.5% ABV, a limited edition of 3,600 bottles, and a price of £320 (US$430.45).

The wine is also the world's youngest distillery manager, 28-year-old Cara Gilbert, as manager, launched the first whisky collection, named the Hebridean Series, to reflect the beautiful island of Muir Island and its unique influence on whisky making, the second largest island in Scotland's Hebrides. The wine is said to convey the "wild landscape of Muir Island", and the aromas of nutmeg and cinnamon are balanced with savours, vanilla, roasted oak and a hint of coconut.

At present, the distillery has 24 years, 23 years, 12 years, Ledaig 10-year-old, Ledaig Sinclair Series Rioja Cask Finish and 18 years. In addition to this, the distillery also produces gin.

2. Chihomen launches Madeira barrel single malt whisky

Kilchoman, based on the Scottish islet of Ere, will launch a single malt whisky aged in Madeira Cask in March: the Kilchoman Madeira Cask Matured. Based on malt with a peat value of 50 ppm, the wine was distilled in May 2016, matured in Madeira Hogshead for 5 years, 3 months and 46 days, and then bottled in August 2021 with an alcohol content of 50% ABV and a limited edition of 17,000 bottles. It is said that it was supposed to go to market earlier, but it was postponed due to insufficient bottles.

The wine has caramel, orange and ripe plums, various spices and strong smoke. On the palate it has a lemon flavour with peach, raisins, walnuts, dark chocolate and a perfectly blended smoky flavour. The aftertaste is a juicy fortified wine, caramel, dark fruit, fluttering smoke and Christmas cakes.

3. The Old Forester Launches 1910 Extra Old Bourbon

Old Forester, part of Brown Forman, unveils a new limited-edition bourbon: Old Forester 1910 Extra Old, which falls under the brand's third product, the 117 Series, launched in the spring of 2021, with a 46.5% abv alcohol and priced at $49.99.

The wine was built on 1910 Old Fine Whiskey and finished in a heavy coke barrel for 18 months, giving it a strong caramel flavor. It smells of brown sugar, sweetened pecans and rich chocolate, with notes of caramel and dried tobacco, and finally notes of green apple and raw walnut.

The Old Forester launched "Old Forester 1910" in 2021 to commemorate a fire on the winery's bottling line that stopped old Forester production. After that, the Old Forester 1910, which was ready to be bottled, was put into a second barrel and aged for a period of time, resulting in a second product: the Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whiskey.

4. Australian Archie Ross Distillation Company launches a red eucalyptus smoked single malt whisky

Archie Rose Distilling Co., based near Sydney, Australia, launches its 7th whisky in its Trials & Exceptions: Red Gum Smoked Single Malt Whisky, 53% ABV, priced at $199.

The wine is best characterized by the use of the local signature Red Gum tree to smoke malt, while barley comes from local malt from Voyager Craft Malt. In addition, the distillery uses a unique "individual malt stream" brewing process, in which each malt in the malt syrup is ground, mashed, fermented, distilled and maturated separately. This allows the winery to tailor the production process to each specific malt, including yeast, barrel type, etc. According to the distillery's master winemaker, Dave Withers, it's one of those

Hellish work, but allow the distillery to maximize the use of malt and really emphasize its key features. The wine has a pronounced smoky taste, with smoked meat and bacon flavors, as well as a rich floral and salty taste, "not suitable for cowards to drink".
