The Hybrid version of tonale is powered by Alfa Romeo's exclusive 160-horsepower hybrid VTG (Variable Geometry) engine. The 1.5T three-cylinder engine is equipped with a variable geometry turbocharger and a 7-speed Alpha Romeo TCT dual-clutch transmission, with a built-in 48-volt 15KW, 55Nm "P2" electric motor that provides the vehicle with the equivalent of a 1.5-liter petrol engine even when the internal combustion engine is turned off. The transmission can be started and driven in electric mode at low speeds, in parked or cruising conditions.

Tonale's plug-in hybrid version uses a high-power rear motor with a maximum peak of 90KW, which is powered by a 15.5kWh capacity battery pack. The plug-in hybrid model has a maximum horsepower of 275 hp and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 6.2 seconds. The new car can travel up to 80 kilometers in pure electric mode. When using a 7.4KW charger, it takes only 2.5 hours for the battery to be fully charged. The all-wheel drive system guarantees the safety and maneuverability of the Tonale. The new Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) offers L2 level driver assistance functions.

Positioned in a compact SUV, the Tonale is smaller than the Stelvio, and the family grille and headlight shape combine the air intakes and surrounds below with a sporty design. The swooping side lines are smooth, the five-ring petal wheels are quite recognizable, and the red brake calipers are unforgettable. The three-stage wavy shape of the through-type taillights echoes the headlights, but the hidden exhaust design is a bit of a shame. In terms of the inner chamber, the new car adopts a full LCD instrument and a suspension central control screen, and the mechanical stop bar design is more traditional, but it provides a very exaggerated size of the paddle shift, and the one-key start button is placed on the steering wheel, and the driving mode knob is placed in the upper left of the gear lever.
