Comments: Drink water, drink more water, and move your stool, but you must also be vigilant against the harm of drinking a lot of water in a short period of time

Drinking plenty of water can promote intestinal peristalsis and help with bowel movements. However, if you accidentally drink too much water, you may reduce the sodium content in the blood to too low a level, causing water poisoning, but there is no problem in drinking water correctly. The right amount of water to drink should be small and many times, rather than drinking a lot of water in a short period of time.

According to the Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents, healthy adults need to consume about 1500 to 1700 ml of water per day [1]. In the summer or when the physical labor consumption is large, it is also possible to consume about 2500 ml.

Comments: Bananas, "laxative net red fruits", are very popular, but in the end can not cure constipation, scientists have not fully understood it!

The dietary fiber in bananas per 100 grams is only about 2.6 grams [2], which is only at the normal level.

Unripe bananas also contain a substance called tannic acid, which will affect gastrointestinal function and increase the risk of constipation if eaten too much.

If you want to rely on eating bananas to alleviate constipation is not scientific, it is better to eat more oats, beans, celery, bamboo shoots, apples, which are dietary fiber-rich coarse grains and fruits.

Comments: "As long as it takes a long time, it will always be squeezed out!" "The methods adopted by many people actually hide the harm:

First of all, our physical strength is limited, pregnant women, people with cardiovascular diseases, are prone to danger when exerting force.

Second, the longer the bowel movement, the easier it is to distract and make the intention disappear.

Third, the anus is in a state of force and congestion for a long time, which is more likely to cause hemorrhoids, and even tear bleeding at the anus, which increases the difficulty and pain of defecation.

If the bowel movement is not smooth, it is not necessary to squeeze hard. Recommendation: Drink plenty of water, eat more foods rich in dietary fiber, such as apples, celery, etc. to promote bowel movements, and if necessary, use less irritating suppositories and open plugs to laxative.

Comments: "Laxatives in hand, no longer afraid", although this trick is immediate, it does not cure the symptoms.

Some people need to rely on taking laxatives for a long time to have a bowel movement. Laxatives that will be exposed to in life are lactulose, polyethylene glycol electrolyte powder, phenolphthalein tablets, aloe vera capsules, senna capsules, magnesium sulfate, paraffin oil and so on. Some of the intestinal cleansing supplements sold on the market may also contain laxative ingredients.

Long-term use of laxatives, especially anthraquinone-type irritating laxatives such as senna, rhubarb, aloe vera, etc., can lead to lipofuscin concentration in the large intestine, which may lead to problems such as colorectal melanosis [3].

Therefore, under the guidance of a doctor, change your daily diet and defecation habits, standardize the use of laxatives, and do not abuse laxatives without permission.

What efforts have you made to?

Comments: Too yourself!

There is a category of people who deliberately eat some spoiled foods when they have poor bowel movements, so that they can defecate through diarrhea. Spoiled food usually breeds a large number of pathogenic bacteria, fungi, mold, and eating it will have an immeasurable impact on the body.

The most common condition is acute gastroenteritis. However, peanuts, rice, dairy products, etc., which have become moldy and deteriorated, are likely to produce a carcinogenic substance called aflatoxin after a series of chemical reactions, which can cause poisoning and disrupt liver function [8].

For whatever reason, do not eat foods that have deteriorated or are about to spoil, it is recommended to improve gastrointestinal function by eating healthy and fresh foods.

You know, the correct criteria for a smooth bowel movement are:

Once to 2 times a day or once a day

The time of each bowel movement should be controlled to 3 to 5 minutes[4]

The following conditions may be found, possibly constipation:

1. Decreased frequency of bowel movements, less than 3 times a week or prolonged defecation

2. The stool is dry and knotted, and there are many pieces

3. Defecation is laborious

4. Poor bowel movements

5. The feeling of inexhaustibility

6. Requires special manipulation assistance (e.g. pressing the abdomen with the hand)

If constipation persists for at least 6 months, it is chronic constipation [9].

You should know that scientific methods of defecation:

1. Reasonable exercise: lack of exercise and sedentary period of time will increase the risk of constipation [5]. People who do not exercise for a long time can start to exercise a little less, walk for 30 minutes a day, and physical fitness allows to gradually increase the amount of exercise.

2. Drink water correctly: 1500 to 2500 ml of water per day, a small amount of time, avoid alcoholic beverages and coffee.

3. Reasonable diet: eat more fruits, vegetables, coarse grains and other foods rich in dietary fiber, such as oats, beans, konjac, bamboo shoots, carrots, celery, hawthorn, mulberries, sour dates. Each person should consume at least 20 to 25 grams of dietary fiber per day [6].

4. Establish good bowel habits: When you have a desire to defecate, you should go to the toilet immediately, do not hold back again and again, and miss the opportunity to defecate. Don't rush to force the bowel movement, and don't take too long.

5. Maintain physical and mental health: emotional tension and mental stress can also cause gastrointestinal dysfunction and increase the risk of constipation [7]. To get enough sleep, you can release stress by outdoor activities, chatting with friends, etc.

If after improving your living habits, your bowel movements are still not smooth, you can try rectal suppositories, kaiser dew and other drugs that can soften the stool.

If trying the above methods is ineffective, constipation still does not improve or more serious conditions occur, you should seek medical attention in time, and the doctor will guide the use of drugs or other treatment methods.

Finally, a reminder:

Want to have a smooth bowel movement

Even if treatment has been received under the guidance of a doctor

We must also adhere to scientific methods of defecation

Start by improving your living habits in order to be smooth as soon as possible!
