The following is a real experience of a friend doing a colon, narrated in the first person for ease of reading.

That day, when I came out of the bathroom and slumped down on the couch, I began to realize the seriousness of the problem. For half a month, the stool was not formed, there was mucus, and there was blood...

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that there were 1.849 million new colorectal cancer patients worldwide in 2018, and 881,000 died of colorectal cancer [1].

I was in my early twenties, my good life had just begun, and I didn't expect to write a will. But the question is, who will inherit the three dollars and 200 cents in my bank card?

At the age of 20, I did the first coloncoscopy in my life, and I didn't expect that the most difficult part was...

I thought about it for an afternoon, instead of thinking about it, I would like to hang up a gastroenterology department and do a colonoscopy to see what is wrong.

"What kind of colonoscopy are you going to do?" Ordinary or painless? The doctor asked kindly.

"What's the difference between the two?"

"The two colonoscopy methods are the same, but the painless will be anesthetized, the process will be more comfortable, but it needs to be accompanied, and the relative cost will be higher."

Hearing this, my heart that wanted to do a painless colonoscopy was suppressed by my own life - as a poor single dog, ordinary colonoscopy was the best choice.

Many friends heard that they want to go colonoscopy, their heads shook like rattles, and their faces were loveless. So next, I will share with you the experience of doing colonoscopy.

Read the medical codex: You need to know this about colonoscopy

The day before the check, I controlled my diet in this way

Colonoscopy should clear the intestines, so the day before can only eat liquid or semi-liquid and other easily digestible foods, you can choose porridge, noodle soup, wontons and so on.

This is not difficult for me, I eat wontons and steamed eggs at noon, drink white porridge for breakfast and at night, in order to reduce physical loss, I try not to move, I try not to move, I am really hungry to drink water.

1 day before the examination or at least 4 to 6 hours in advance to drink laxatives to clear the intestines, to put it bluntly, is to clear the roadblocks for the subsequent colonoscopic observation, because if there is undigested food or excrement in the intestine, the colonoscopy cannot be seen clearly.

I had an appointment for an afternoon check-up, so I was ready to drink laxatives at 7 a.m. on the day of the check-up. For this step, I am in a nervous mood, because the shadow of the diarrhea that was pulled to the point of collapse is still vividly remembered.

Second, I heard that drinking laxatives to clean the intestines is more painful than doing colonoscopy?

I mixed the two bags of compound polyethylene glycol electrolyte in my hand in 2 to 3 liters of warm water, drank 250 ml every 10 to 15 minutes, and drank it within 2 hours.

What is the concept of 2000 ml? It's roughly equivalent to drinking 8 cartons of milk.

But this electrolyte water is not as good as milk, I heard before, than doing colonoscopy, more painful is actually drinking laxatives, and now I am deeply aware.

When I drank the first cup, I didn't feel too much, so I let down my guard, and after the second drink, it became more and more difficult to drink, and I drank it directly to the back. In order to make myself feel better, I watched variety shows to distract myself while pinching my nose and drinking medicine.

Next, it was spent in a tug-of-war between diarrhea and drinking electrolyte water. As for the excretion process, I will not describe it too much, a sentence "it means like the gushing river is endless, and it is like the Yellow River flooding, and it cannot be harvested at once", everyone can understand it for themselves.

At the age of 20, I did the first coloncoscopy in my life, and I didn't expect that the most difficult part was...

It is not until the seventh or eighth time in the toilet that the stool is discharged like clear water, and the intestines are successfully cleaned.

On the way to the hospital, I cheered myself up, and the hardest time had passed!

Third, the little brother in front of me, that meaningful expression

Finally waited for the ultimate big boss! In order to finish it early, I took the number half an hour in advance.

While waiting in the corridor, I don't know if it is a psychological effect, I vaguely heard a burst of "Aaaaa ~" sound coming from inside, and I couldn't help but tighten my chrysanthemum.

I remembered asking the doctor on the day of the appointment, does it hurt to do a colonoscopy? The doctor said that it is deceptive to say that it is not painful, but it depends on the person, most people just feel a little swollen, and some sensitive people will hurt.

I think usually a big grin, by the boiling water to only be red for a while, usually the lottery activities almost do not have my share, should not be the minority of people.

At this time, a little brother in front of me came out, was helped by his girlfriend to the chair next to me, and then made a meaningful expression at me...

Fourth, the real experience of colonoscopy

"Please go to the locker room and change into your special inspection pants." The nurse sister was straight to the point, and it was impossible to refuse.

I leaned left onto the bed, curled my legs up, exposing my ass, and the nurse applied some kind of yellow oil to the top, and I felt ashamed but a little comfortable...

After waiting for a while, the doctor probed into my body with a colonoscope, but there was not much pain, but more of an discomfort of the body being invaded by a foreign body.

At the age of 20, I did the first coloncoscopy in my life, and I didn't expect that the most difficult part was...

Because the intestines are particularly wrinkled, in order for the colonoscopy to reach out smoothly, it needs to be constantly inflated, and my intestines are like a balloon, constantly inflated and inflated.

"It's time to turn a corner, it may hurt a little..." When the colonoscope changed from a straight track to a curve, I felt like my "test" had really begun.

My stomach turned from uncomfortable to huge pain, and I obviously felt the colonoscope rushing left and right in my stomach, at the same time, the doctor's movements were spinning in place for a while, and then I was really curled up, holding my full stomach like holding a balloon that exploded at any time, and there were people inside who kept struggling to break through the cage.

Who am I, where am I, what is the meaning of life, and what am I going to eat tonight? Just when I was in pain and doubting life, when I wanted to vomit in my stomach, suddenly in a certain moment, I felt that the pain reached its peak, like falling into a huge abyss, constantly falling down.

I want to go home!

All the self-consolation and psychological construction before collapsed in an instant, and while I was in a cold sweat, I couldn't help but shout, "Ah ~ pain, so painful!" ”

The doctor asked me to change my posture and say, "You are too thin, your intestines are more complicated, relax a little." I gritted my teeth and secretly encouraged myself, thinking that I had reached this step, I must stick to it!

While guiding me, the doctor comforted me: "If it is uncomfortable, you can exhaust, it doesn't matter", "There will be a little pain here, you stick to it".

The whole process of doing colonoscopy is like riding a roller coaster, a moment of spring blossoms, a moment of falling into the abyss, perhaps the reason for the slow relaxation of the back, the pain is not as strong as before.

After the examination, the doctor told me that it was proctitis, take medicine according to the doctor's instructions, eat less spicy and irritating things, and pay attention to avoiding the mouth.

I was immediately relieved, on the way back, the autumn sun was warm, the leaves were yellow, I touched my stomach, and sighed again: It is good to be alive! Never "do" it again!
