But in China, it seems to be a different story. Tesla has been killing people throughout 2021, and even the Model Y once surpassed the Haval H6 in a single month, winning the SUV market sales championship. The Mustang Mach-E, which is considered to be the biggest rival of Model Y, has been on the market for more than half a year, but it seems that there is not much noise.
What's wrong with Ford? Let the kung fu car take everyone to see it together.
(1) The steamy Tesla, the strange "electric horse"
In the eyes of Kung Fu Motors, it is understandable that The Mustang Mach-E sales lag behind the Model Y, after all, market competition itself is a matter of losing and winning.
But as it is now, the former can not be on the sales list, and the latter can also hit the champion of the market segment, which is quite unscientific. Such a large gap is obviously not caused by product strength, but more of a problem of market positioning.
Let's start with Tesla, which can be said to be a brand with its own traffic. Its soul is the "Silicon Valley Iron Man" Musk, a man determined to send humanity to Mars, committed to turning many forward-thinking ideas into reality. In terms of technology, Tesla does have a few brushes, such as the 4680 battery we often mention, the integrated electrical and electronic architecture, the integrated die-cast body, the V3 super fast charge and so on. Of course, there are also some negative news, such as "brake doors", once the whole network was condemned, and there are various bizarre car accidents and so on.
But in any case, as a "catfish" specially introduced by the state, Tesla does have its own aura. Even the Model 3, which is in its early 200,000s, is considered by many to represent the most advanced electrification technology. Driving such a car, the "deck" at least does not lose the luxury models such as 3, 4 and C. Even when many people choose electric vehicles, they only consider Tesla, and when they come and go, its sales will naturally explode.
The Mustang Mach-E does not have such "good luck", although it is positioned as a Mustang series and has a high national popularity in the United States. But the Mustang sports car in China is actually quite a niche model, many people do not know that Ford has an electric car, because the headlines are Tesla, BYD, Wei Xiaoli. To beat Tesla, Ford really needs to put more effort into publicity.
(2) The strength is still strong, and the cost performance is remarkable?
In the survey report proposed by consumer reports in the United States, it is written that in the hearts of American consumers, the advantages of Music Mach-E over Tesla Model Y are mainly four points, feelings, design, quality workmanship and control tuning.
First of all, it is undeniable that the Mustang series has a very long history, almost a representative of civilian sports cars. But at home, it doesn't have that much influence. More users feel that it is novel, and it is not as full of hormones as the old beauty.
Speaking of design, the Mustang Mach-E is certainly much better than the Model Y. The shape is dynamic, and the interior is more or less stronger than Tesla's "rough room".
