In the US market, Mach-E is quite a high-profile, not only by the American consumer culture authority magazine "Consumer Reports", selected as the most popular electric model in 2022.

At the same time, 27,000 units were sold in the U.S. market last year, making it second only to the Model 3 and Model Y.

And in China, has this car been unsatisfactory? For the reason that the car was delivered too little, Ford Motor also responded to the media.

Recently, according to the "smart car reference" report, Ford said that the 352 insurance data can be seen as the real situation of delivery, and at the same time, Ford will not disclose the number of deliveries of Ford electric horses separately.

As for why so few deliveries are made?

Ford said that there were two main reasons for the low delivery of electric horses in January.

First, Ford encountered the same problem as Weilai: the battery supply was unstable.

It is reported that the ternary lithium battery currently equipped by Ford Electric Horse comes from BYD, which is mainly produced by the latter's factory in Xi'an.

However, due to the impact of the new crown epidemic, Xi'an locked down the city from the end of last year to January this year, resulting in the normal circulation of battery raw materials, and the batteries in the Xi'an factory could not be transferred to changan ford's Chongqing plant. As a result, the production of electric horses has also been affected and cannot be delivered in a timely manner.

Moreover, Ford said that on the issue of battery shortage, the official also informed the owner in time. According to Ford, at present, there is only one battery supplier for Ford Electric Horse.

As for whether it will seek other battery suppliers in the future, Ford said that at present, major car companies are seeking multiple suppliers to ensure stable production, but for Ford, for technical adjustments and other reasons, in the short term, the situation of a single battery supplier cannot be changed.

Second, there are also constraints in terms of production capacity.

Ford Electric Horse was listed in China in April last year, and the official delivery was not made at the end of December, and it will take time for the capacity to climb. At present, the production capacity of Changan Ford's Chongqing plant has not been disclosed by Ford, but at the same time, it said that under the condition of stable supply chain, it can ensure the timely delivery of existing orders.

Regarding the rumors that the delivery cycle of Ford's pre-scheduled car owners is as long as 2-3 months, Ford has also confirmed it, and said that after the epidemic eases and the supply chain stabilizes, the delivery cycle of the late scheduled car owners will be shortened to 6-7 weeks.

It is reported that Ford Mach-E currently has 6 models on sale in China, the price range is between 265-37.99 million yuan, and Tesla Model 3/Y constitutes a highly benchmarked competitive relationship, but in terms of sales, there is still a big gap with Tesla, Changan Ford Automobile, what kind of sales strategy will be made in the follow-up, we wait and see.
