[Enemy Briefing 丨 China-India Border: "Bravo Juliet, This is Hotel, USA Fight Unit Reported, Over?" In recent years, India's position in the U.S. strategy to contain China has risen rapidly. The U.S. military has long sought to establish military bases in India, but has not made substantial progress because of India's doubts. However, out of the need to jointly confront China, the US and Indian militaries have taken substantive action in exchanges.

On October 27, 2020, the United States and India signed the "Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement on Geospatial Cooperation" in New Delhi to promote military intelligence cooperation between the two countries, and the US military not only provided intelligence support for the Indian military in the Sino-Indian border dispute, but also provided technical assistance for the Indian military to improve the accuracy of missile and unmanned aerial vehicle strikes. It marks the establishment of the "quasi-ally" relationship between the United States and India.

In September 2021, the "quadrilateral coordination mechanism" between the United States, Japan, India, Australia, and the Indo-Pacific was established, marking India's formal accession to the anti-China military alliance of the United States. Since then, the "quadrilateral mechanism" has frequently held summits of foreign ministers, defense ministers and heads of state, as well as joint maritime military exercises.

On October 15-29, 2021, the United States and India held a joint military exercise "Prepare for War", in which 350 soldiers from the 7th Battalion of the Madras Regiment of the Indian Army participated. The training included survival in severe cold weather conditions, air medical rescue, mountaineer training, small arms shooting, and field exercises in mountainous areas, covering almost all aspects of highland and mountain combat.

On February 12, 2022, the US White House released the Indo-Pacific Strategy Paper, which clarifies the policy objectives and specific policy measures of the United States in the "Indo-Pacific region" in the future, reshapes the US "Indo-Pacific Strategy", and further improves India's role and status in the US Indo-Pacific strategy.

◇ On February 14, 2022, the media reported that US military instructors trained Indian army special forces and snipers in the snowy mountains. The location is in the Leh city area of Ladakh capital in the middle of the China-India border. Receive training from U.S. Special Forces instructors. Since then, the Sino-Indian border dispute has not ruled out the presence of the US military.

◇ It is not excluded that in the next two years, the United States and India will hold a brigade-scale mountain combat joint exercise against China in the ICN in the Ladakh region.
