Today is February 17, 2022, please do not forget this special day, from this day and the next twenty-eight days and nights, opposite the southern Xinjiang of the motherland, the people's sons and soldiers of the Chinese People's Liberation Army have defended the tranquility of the frontier with their lives and blood, in exchange for the territorial integrity of the motherland and the happy life of the people, we must always remember this day.

43 years ago, in the early morning of February 17, 1979, on the border defense line of 1300 kilometers of the southern Xinjiang of the motherland, the artillery fire broke through the darkness before dawn,Chinese and the rumbling cannon sound shocked the whole world.

I have the honor to participate in this "self-defense counterattack war", on this occasion, as a surviving veteran, I would like to pay a high tribute to all the comrades-in-arms and veterans, warriors, heroes and martyrs who participated in this counterattack war!

The years turn back, and the footsteps of time once again enter the unforgettable February 17th.

On this very ordinary and forgotten day, this day still touches the hearts of many veterans who participated in the war, and today it seems to be integrated into the bloody struggle between blood and fire.

In fact, those of us who survived the veterans ~ the war witnesses, are unforgettable for every day and every hour of February of that year, every moment and every minute of the experience, like a blood-stained diary with a yellowed cover, more like an old photo album, which retains the combat figure of every comrade-in-arms who participated in the war.

February 17, 1979, I will always remember!

Jingxi, Nianjing, Liangshan, Guangyuan, Fakashan, Chaling, and even the captured provincial capital Gaoping, comrades-in-arms are charging, comrades-in-arms are shedding blood, comrades-in-arms are still going forward and following, we are seventeen or eighteen years old and twenty years old, shouldering the sacred mission of the motherland!

Twenty-eight days of bloody struggle, how many young officers and soldiers sacrificed their precious lives.

At the moment of their fall, the heroes and martyrs still cared about their comrades-in-arms and the people of the motherland, leaving their flesh and blood in a foreign country, and fixed their brilliant youth on 17, 18, 19, 20...

The heroes and martyrs left, too late to look at the shining military merit badge, too late to tell the comrades around them to take care of themselves, to fight bravely and heroically to kill the enemy, and they used their youth and life to explain what it means to sacrifice their lives for the country.

The years are hurried, time is like an arrow, forty-three years, in a flash, the surviving warriors are now pale and beautiful, everything is in the word, but still let us in our hearts, infinitely remember those who once shouldered the sacred mission of the motherland and heroically sacrificed their lives for the motherland and the people.

A high salute to them! Heroes and martyrs are immortal!
