In the long history, there are not a few literati who have left footprints in Qingdao, and Qingdao has also become a long or short station in their lives. The culture they left behind carries the historical scenery and cultural artistic conception, making the city's memory have a deep and open galloping space.
How many former residences, smoke lock small buildings. Today, let's walk into the former residence of Wang Tongzhao and Zhao Taiyun and listen to their stories with Qingdao.
Wang Tongzhao (1897-1957) was a famous modern writer, scholar and educator, and a pioneer of the New Culture Movement.
In 1927, Wang Tongzhao moved his family to Qingdao, where he taught in the Railway Middle School and the Municipal Middle School. Wang Tongzhao's former residence is located in Guanhai 2nd Road, at the west foot of Guanhai Mountain, and Wang Tongzhao named it "Guanhai Building".
The brick and wood structure is staggered according to the topography and height. Pebble wall base, water-brushed wall, red tile slope roof, wooden pillar corridor. The former residence is now a cultural relics protection unit in Qingdao.
In 1929, he led the establishment of the island's earliest modern literary periodical, Qingchao Monthly, which opened up a new world for Qingdao's new literature. This is the first group appearance of local writers in Qingdao in the modern literary world, marking the first historical height of new literature in Qingdao.
Wang Tongzhao has a deep relationship with Qingdao and regards Qingdao as his second hometown. From 1927 to 1937 and from 1945 to 1950, he lived in Qingdao. Since moving to Qingdao in 1927, his residence Guanhailou has become a gathering place for Qingdao's new literary forces. He has a strong sense of locality and has poured a lot of pen and ink into Qingdao, which has greatly enriched the memory of Qingdao.
As one of the pioneers of the New Culture Movement, Wang Tongzhao led the development of Qingdao's local literature and repeatedly created masterpieces. At the same time, he enthusiastically supported new talents in the literary world and made significant contributions to the development of Qingdao's new literature. Among them, Zang Kejia, Wu Boxi, Wang Yaping, Du Yu, Meng Chao and others have all benefited from it. Zang Ke's first collection of poems "Imprint" was published with the help of Wang Tongzhao and Wen Yiduo.
In the 30s of the 20th century, although Wang Tongzhao did not enter the National Shandong University, he had a great deal with well-known professors such as Lao She, Hong Shen, Zhao Shaohou, and Huang Gongzhu, gathered cultural figures inside and outside the university, and profoundly witnessed the formation and evolution of Qingdao's cultural peak at that time.
In the summer of 1935, he formed a group of 12 doujin with Lao She, Hong Shen, Du Yu and others, and founded the literary supplement "Summer Retreat", which provided a number of works, wrote a historical light of fanliterature, and presented a very charming chapter in Qingdao's cultural history.
Zhao Taiyun (1889-1968) was a Chinese dramatist and modern educator.
The brick and wood structure of the former residence of Zhao Taiyun was built in 1935, covering an area of about 760 square meters, with a construction area of about 320 square meters. With granite foundations, yellow brushed walls and square dormer windows on a classic red tile roof, this is a typical European pastoral style villa. It is now a cultural relics protection unit in Shinan District.
It is said that Mrs. Zhao and his wife Yu Shan liked to invite scholars to their homes, and some well-known literati and scholars could often be seen here "sitting and talking".
Therefore, his residence at No. 7 Longjiang Road is not only a "meeting room", but also a space that arouses the infinite reverie of future generations: when Mr. Lao She created "Camel Xiangzi", did he ever "have a flash of inspiration" in this room? When Mr. Liang Shiqiu created and published the "Collection of Literary and Art Criticism", did he also have a collision of ideas in this room......
From 1930 to 1932, Mrs. Zhao served as a professor and dean of the National Qingdao University. From 1932 to 1936 and from 1946 to 1949, he served as president of National Shandong University. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he served as a professor at Shandong University and Shandong Ocean University

The former residences of celebrities are scattered like stars in Qingdao Old Street
String it up
Such as a magnificent history of modern Chinese literature
The green trees are four, and the red tiles reflect the sky
The scars of the years where celebrities have resided
Weave through the alleys in the breeze
Spread and grow in the rustle of leaves
