Which is dirtier, sitting or squatting? The answer was unexpected!

In the face of squats and poop in the company's toilet, Xiaobian's Libra choice phobia will recur, and he is very entangled in which to choose to poop... Today Xiaobian will popularize health cold knowledge for everyone, and talk about which is healthier, sitting and squatting.

In those years, there was gossip about squatting and sitting

A foreign advertisement tells us that when defecating in a sitting position, the pubic rectal muscle is only partially relaxed, and only when defecating in a squat position, the muscles are completely relaxed, so that the defecation is not only easier but also more thorough. If it is not convenient to use the squat toilet, you can also step on the small bench to go to the toilet, in order to reduce the angle between the thighs and torso, to achieve the effect of simulating the natural squat posture.

Is this true?

First, the angle of the anorectal angle determines the time it takes for you to defecate

The theoretical basis for the belief that squatting is better than sitting is mainly based on a muscle called the "pubic rectal muscle". This muscle starts from one side of the pubic bone, circles behind the rectum, and then returns to the other side of the pubic bone, forming a ring, just pulling the rectal hook, so that the rectum forms a tip forward angle, called the "anorectal angle".

Theoretically, the larger the anorectal horn, the less effort it takes to defecate. The average angle between the rectum and anus is 92°, and the average angle when squatting is increased to 132°, so that the stool is easier to excrete.

As you can see from the above, when you defecate, squatting does take less time than sitting on the poop.

Second, do you want to step on the small bench? So silly and naïve

Among the rumors about poop, it is recommended to use a small bench to reduce the angle between the thighs and the torso, simulating the same effect as squatting defecation. Does this really work? Unfortunately, the answer must be no.

Which is dirtier, sitting or squatting? The answer was unexpected!

Some scientists have studied the anorectal angles of the normal sitting posture (thighs and torso are 90°), the sitting posture of the raised legs (the thighs and torso are 60°) and the squatting posture, and found that the anorectal angle during the squatting posture is significantly larger than the sitting posture, and there is no difference between the two sitting postures. Therefore, although stepping on the small bench can reduce the angle between the thighs and torso, it does not help to straighten the anorectal angle, and naturally it is useless to reduce the pressure of defecation.

Third, constipation, hemorrhoids... Is it all about sitting?

1, about constipation, sitting stool has something to say

Judging from the time it takes to defecate, it seems that it is true that defecation in a squatting position is better than in a sitting position. Although larger anorectal angles can make defecation less forceful and reduce the time of defecation, in fact, the decisive factor for the onset of constipation is not only the anorectal angle. There are many causes of constipation, including:

Intestinal peristalsis slows down and is more common in the elderly, so constipation occurs more often in the elderly than in younger generations.

Functional bowel disorder refers to constipation caused by uncoordinated muscle contraction during defecation and rectal outlet obstruction, and the anorectal angle mentioned above is too small to cause constipation.

Long-term suppression of stool.

Lifestyle habits change, such as holidays, travel.

Changes in hormone production during pregnancy or menopause.

Psychological problems, such as anxiety, depression, and work stress, can cause constipation.

Certain medications are taken, including antacids containing aluminum or calcium, potent anesthetic painkillers (such as morphine), and some antidepressants.

Some diseases, such as Parkinson's disease, diabetes. It should be said that constipation is a manifestation of a disease, and many diseases can cause constipation.

Squatting may have a partial effect on relieving symptoms of difficulty defecating, but this does not mean that squatting does not cause constipation, or sitting defecation is constipated.

2, about hemorrhoids, sitting stool is very wronged

In fact, every bowel movement is a stimulus to the anus. In terms of the most common hemorrhoids in the clinic, the abdominal pressure increases when people are squatting, and the gravity is often concentrated in the anus at this time, although the defecation is relaxed, but it is also easy to cause hemorrhoids.

3. How to poop? You are free, just be safe!

It can't be too long. Don't unconsciously prolong the time of the poop because you are obsessed with the next plot of the novel, or be in a hurry to talk to a good friend for two more sentences.

Whether squatting or sitting, it is best not to exceed 5 minutes.

Don't get up too fast. Slowly get up after defecation, otherwise it will cause orthostatic hypotension, insufficient cerebral blood supply, dizziness, and blackening of the eyes.
