After receiving the news, the Xi'an Municipal Bureau of Cultural Relics immediately sent an archaeological team to investigate, the experts came to the scene, quickly determined the location of the ancient tomb, and after completing the relevant procedures, they began to carry out rescue excavations. However, with the deepening of excavation, experts found an extremely serious problem, they actually found more than 20 robbery holes in the sealing layer of the ancient tomb, of which 9 were the largest, and the experts knew very well that this probably meant that the tomb robbers had entered the tomb chamber one step ahead of them, and perhaps the cultural relics in them had been looted.
With this heavy heart, the experts continued to clean and excavate, and when they entered the tomb, they could not help but sigh with regret, only to see that the tomb was full of traces of destruction, some broken copper pieces were scattered on the ground, and only the traces of frescoes were taken away on the walls. Fortunately, the sarcophagus in the burial chamber was not destroyed, and the experts immediately raised their spirits to investigate the sarcophagus.
Due to its age, the text on the sarcophagus is already somewhat unclear, but experts have determined through the sarcophagus that the tomb comes from the Tang Dynasty, and the owner of the cemetery is likely to be a Sanpin official of the Tang Dynasty. However, after the sarcophagus was opened, the experts were dumbfounded, and it turned out that the tomb robbers had also opened the sarcophagus, and now there was nothing in it except a messy skeleton. This has left the experts very disheartened, and they have been careful to excavate the tomb, but in the end they have not been able to find a valuable artifact, which is really chilling.
The experts thought about it, and now only by studying this sarcophagus can they further determine the situation of the tomb owner, so they want to conduct an in-depth study of the sarcophagus. In order to be able to further study the sarcophagus, the experts were ready to remove the sarcophagus and take it away, but at this moment, they found that there was a crypt under the sarcophagus, and there were even seventy or eighty Tang Sancai inside. This makes the experts excited, you know, for the study of Tang Dynasty culture, Tang Sancai has a very high value and role.
After analysis and research, experts can determine that these Tang Sancai did indeed come from the Tang Dynasty, and the reason why they can still be preserved to the present day is thanks to the owner of the cemetery. According to experts, the tomb owner should have anticipated that there might be tomb robbers coming to steal in the future, so he first dug up the treasure crypt under the three-ton sarcophagus, and hid the most precious Tang Sancai in it, so that even if the tomb robber entered the tomb, he would not think that there was still a treasure hidden underground. I have to say that the ancients in order to prevent tomb robbers from stealing is also a painstaking effort, their wisdom is really admirable, even if the tomb robbers are cunning, they will not think that there will be so many cultural relics under the sarcophagus.
After cleaning up Tang Sancai in the treasure crypt, the experts took it back for identification and research, and finally identified it as a national top cultural relic. Finally, experts said that according to the rules of the Tang Dynasty, there can be up to 90 Pieces of Tang Sancai in the funerary items of the Three Pins, and more than 80 pieces have been counted in this ancient tomb. According to the situation around the cemetery, the tomb robbers have come at least 20 times, and after experiencing this many tomb robberies, so many top cultural relics can be found in the cemetery, which can only be said that the wisdom of the ancients is really too powerful.
