Hello everyone! Today, I would like to introduce to you that the Tang Dynasty cultural relics "Sancai Huren Riding Camel Figurines", about the first year of the Tang Dynasty (713-741), is 74 cm high and 55 cm long.
The Bactrian camel stands on a diamond-shaped support board, its head held high, making a hissing sound, the muscles of the four legs bulging, and the four legs are staggered back and forth, making a marching shape. Sitting on the hunchback is a bearded man with deep eyes and a high nose and a beard. With his head tied to his head, he wore a beard with lapels, narrow sleeves, open crotch, and over-the-knee, with hakama and high boots. Hand-held camel front meat peak. Standing on the shoulder is a monkey, the monkey holds the head of the figurine with one claw, and the cheek of the claw holds the cheek, and a naughty look.
In addition to the white powder on the face of the Hu people, the facial features, beard and other ink paintings, the rest of the parts are applied with three color glazes. Hu and camels are dominated by dark and light ochre yellow respectively, the head, neck, legs and hump hair of camels are coated with light yellow glaze, and the hunchback shawl is glazed with green, ochre and yellow.
This Tang Sancai work was unearthed in Luoyang, Henan. People, camels and monkeys are vividly depicted, the glaze of the three-color glaze is uniform and flawless, the color matching is natural, the beauty is not flashy, and the shaping art and the firing technology of the three-color glaze have reached an extremely skilled height, showing the exquisite skills of the tang and three colors in the mainland.
The Hu people in this work are the image of the Kangguo people in the Western Regions.
The Tang Dynasty was strong and prosperous, and set up capital protectorates in various parts of the western region (Xinjiang), so that the "Silk Road" developed by the Han Dynasty from Kyoto Chang'an through the Hexi Corridor to the Central Asian countries to the eastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea was reopened.
The Kangguo people are good at business, and riding camel pottery figurines shaped the scene of the Kangguo people in the western region coming to China in the east during the Tang Dynasty, showing their leisure to do business in the mainland, playing monkeys, and riding camels to roam.
