When the Winter Olympics meet the Lantern Festival, a wave of "ice and snow wind" is blowing to the people celebrating the festival. "Ice and snow sports with more than 300 million people" swept across the country. This Lantern Festival, I believe many people will go out of the house, skate, play with snow, and personally feel what is called happy "frozen" people!
However, the fun brought by ice and snow activities is not what is now, as early as a long time ago, it has been integrated into people's lives, and in many places it has even evolved into a custom, culture, and become a "childhood memory" of locals...
Rudder ice
In the northeast region, the Lantern Festival has the custom of walking white ice and rudder ice. After the Lantern Festival flower lanterns, relatives, friends, neighbors and relatives invited to walk the white ice, which means "walking a hundred diseases", that is, to remove the hundred diseases of the body and the family; the custom of "reeling ice" is very popular among women, a folk song sings: "The rudder reels and the ice, no waist pain, no leg pain; the rudder reel ice, the body is light and light; the rudder reel is ice, the heart is loose; the rudder is reeled, the heart is loose; the rudder is reeled, and the ice is lifted..."
In fact, the custom of "rudder ice" has long been popular in the Qing Dynasty. Every year on the night of the sixteenth day of the first month, women come to the wilderness with lanterns in their hands, lie on the ice and snow, flip from side to side, and sometimes play with each other on the ice, commonly known as "de-obscurity" in the locals.
Chagannower Winter Fishing
The winter fishing custom of Chagan Naur is spread in the surrounding areas of Chagan Lake and Moon Bubble in the former Guoerdos Mongol Autonomous County in Jilin Province. Chagan Lake, known in Mongolian as "Chagannur", means "white lake".
Chagan Lake is a natural place for fishing and hunting, and has a long history. In 1211 AD, Genghis Khan occupied Tahu City and went to Chagan Lake to sacrifice, which led to the lake sacrifice ceremony of Chagan Lake. Subsequently, the fishermen of Chagan Lake held a ceremony of sacrificing nets and waking up nets every year before winter fishing, and it has been passed down to this day, and the scene of winter fishing in Chagan Nao'er is spectacular and magnificent.
Back ice
The second day of the second month of the lunar calendar is the "Zhonghe Festival", which is said to have begun in the fifth year of Tang Zhenyuan and was built by Emperor Dezong Li Shi.
The back ice activity of the Zhonghe Festival is spread in Changwang Village, Yongji, Shanxi, and is a folk activity of the honor guard queue. According to legend, when the Peasant Rebellion led by Hong Xiuquan attacked Pujindu in the north, the Qing general Xia Xinqiang demolished the wood of the houses and lit them for defense. The rebel general Xiang Fulu sent soldiers to the Yellow River to chisel ice cubes to extinguish the fire and break the city successfully. Since then, the custom of breaking the ice and carrying the ice has been passed down to this day.
"Back ice" is one of the local folk social fires, the main performance actions are down the river, ice breaking, creeping forward, showing people's fortitude, not afraid of difficulties of courage.

Ice and snow sculpture originates from the northern people's love of ice and snow, and is an outdoor art activity based on ice and snow. Ice and snow carving is an artistic expression of people using nature and conveying the humanistic spirit.
