The signing ceremony of Huaqin Technology's "Automotive Electronics Lingang R&D Headquarters" and "Intelligent Manufacturing Base" projects with a total investment of 3.7 billion yuan was held today in Lingang New Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
It is reported that Huaqin's R&D and manufacturing base in Lingang New Area will mainly focus on the field of automotive electronics and consumer electronics, expand the new path of R&D + high-end intelligent manufacturing integration and development in the new area, and create a three-in-one integrated service of hardware product research and development, software services and high-end manufacturing of "lighthouse automation factory". It is reported that the two projects have a total investment of 3.7 billion yuan, covering a total area of 232 mu and a total construction area of 360,000 square meters, and will be fully completed and put into use in 2025. It is expected that in 2030, it will achieve annual revenue of more than 14 billion yuan, attracting nearly 5,000 automotive electronics-related talents, including R&D designers and high-end intelligent manufacturing talents.
Lu Yu, deputy director of the High-tech Industry and Technology Innovation Division of the Management Committee of Lingang New Area, introduced that in 2021, the automobile industry in Lingang New Area achieved "three historic breakthroughs" - the output value scale of 179.4 billion yuan, becoming the first frontier industry to exceed 100 billion; the output of complete vehicles exceeded 750,000 for the first time, accounting for a quarter of the city; the number of intelligent new energy automobile enterprises exceeded 100 for the first time, initially forming eight major categories such as vehicles, engines, batteries, body, interior and exterior, chassis, automotive electronics, and chips, covering research and development and manufacturing The whole industrial chain such as trade and testing, the agglomeration trend of the intelligent new energy automobile industry has been formed.
In the future, Lingang New Area will focus on the automotive electronics industry and vigorously develop five major areas: chassis electronics, cockpit electronics, driver control electronics, network electronics, and body electronics.
Huaqin technology incubation grew stronger than Zhangjiang, transformed in Lingang, as an incubator of China's intelligent manufacturing industry, a typical "chain main" enterprise, the signing of this contract will effectively attract the upstream core suppliers of the industry to settle in Lingang, form a siphon effect, and inject strong impetus into the promotion of Lingang New Area to build a world-class intelligent new energy automobile industry cluster.
It is worth noting that Huaqin Technology signed a contract to settle in Lingang New Area to create "three firsts": Huaqin Lingang Project is the first important layout after the strategic transformation of Huaqin Technology from consumer electronics to automotive electronics; Huaqin Lingang Project is the first R&D headquarters project integrating R&D, manufacturing, trade and supply chain in the automotive electronics field of Lingang New Area; Huaqin Lingang Project is also the first successful model for achieving "Zhangjiang-Lingang Dual-drive Linkage" in the field of automotive electronics.
