On February 14, Huaqin Technology Co., Ltd., with a total investment of 3.7 billion yuan, signed a contract for the "Automotive Electronics Lingang R&D Headquarters" and "Intelligent Manufacturing Base" projects in the Lingang New Area of the Shanghai Free Trade Zone. The R&D and manufacturing base will mainly focus on the field of automotive electronics and consumer electronics, expand the new path of R&D + high-end intelligent manufacturing integration and development in Lingang New Area, and build a trinity of integrated services for hardware product research and development, software services and high-end manufacturing of "lighthouse automation factory".

Huaqin, an intelligent hardware platform company, was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Shanghai, and entered the field of automotive electronics in 2018. The two projects signed this time have a total investment of 3.7 billion yuan, covering a total area of 232 mu and a total construction area of 360,000 square meters, and will be fully completed and put into use in 2025. It is expected that in 2030, the annual revenue will exceed 14 billion yuan, attracting nearly 5,000 automotive electronics-related talents, including R&D designers and high-end intelligent manufacturing talents.

Huaqin Lingang project is the first important layout of Huaqin Technology after the strategic transformation from consumer electronics to automotive electronics, and is also the first R&D headquarters project in the field of automotive electronics in Lingang New Area that integrates R&D, manufacturing, trade and supply chain. The signing of this contract will help Huaqin Technology to strengthen business ties with downstream leading automotive customers, enhance business penetration in the automotive field, help the intelligent automotive electronics industry in Lingang New Area to gather rapidly, and accelerate the momentum of large-scale development.

Wang Zhigang, vice president of Huaqin Technology and secretary of the board of directors, said that in 2021, Huaqin officially established the Automotive Electronics Division and fully opened the automotive electronics business. In terms of automotive electronics, for the new forces in the field of car manufacturing and traditional manufacturers, Huaqin Technology mainly has two directions to expand, one is the intelligent cockpit, and the other is the networking and intelligent electronic products for the coordinated communication between the road network and the body. "Central control instruments like the smart cockpit, plus the on-board T-BOX, as well as the related hardware and software for the ADAS advanced driver assistance system in autonomous driving are all directions for our expansion."
