This also means that newly produced passenger cars from January 2022 must be equipped with EDR systems, also known as car "black boxes", which record vehicle operation data before and after accidents and reduce the "Rashomon" incident of intelligent driving in the future.
The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that in the "Announcement" product access, gb 39732-2020 "automotive event data recording system" and GB/T 38892-2020 "vehicle video driving recording system" will be adjusted to independent inspection items, and enterprises can choose one of the standards for inspection and provide corresponding inspection and testing reports.
Among them, the model products equipped with the automotive event data recording system (EDR), according to the time of the new application type approval, are divided into three different stages before January 1, 2022, from January 1, 2022 and from January 1, 2024, which should meet the technical requirements of GB 39732-2020 for different access times, and the model products equipped with the vehicle video driving record system (DVR) should meet all the technical requirements stipulated in GB/T 38892-2020.
From 1 January 2022, all applicable models in the Announcement shall be equipped with an automotive event data recording system or an on-board video driving record system that meet the requirements of the standard, and the applicable models that meet the requirements of the standard shall indicate in the "Other" column of the "Announcement" parameters: "The vehicle is equipped with an automotive event data recording system (EDR)" or "the vehicle is equipped with an on-board video driving record system (DVR)".
At the same time, models equipped with automotive event data recording system (EDR) or models equipped with vehicle video driving record system (DVR) need to fill in the relevant configuration parameters separately, and the product instruction manual should include the meaning and possible use of the data items recorded by the EDR, and the access to the EDR data reading tool.
