FAW Toyota's new energy vehicle project will push three models within the year

FAW Toyota's new energy vehicle project will be officially put into operation this year. According to the recently exposed news, the first phase of the project has been completed at the end of 2021, and it is planned to complete the scheduling of three new cars at the end of December 2022, of which the first new car will be put into production in June this year. Based on the new plant, FAW Toyota will produce three new energy models this year, including FAW Toyota bZ4X pure electric SUV (Chinese to be determined), FAW Toyota GRANVIA (Guangfeng Xena sister model), and a new electric sedan with BYD blade batteries.

It is reported that the FAW Toyota New Energy Automobile Factory in Tianjin will produce the first model to be FAW Toyota bZ4X (internal code name EVE3), the new car positioning pure electric compact SUV, has entered the trial production state, will be officially put into production in June this year. The Toyota bZ4X is the first model of Toyota's Beyond Zero to go beyond the zero-emission concept. At present, FAW Toyota has also given a new Chinese interpretation of the "Beyond Zero" concept - a different freedom.

According to the previous introduction, Toyota bZ4X is the first model of Toyota's new pure electric exclusive series "bZ", which is based on the e-TNGA architecture and built by the BEV exclusive platform of FAW Toyota New Energy Plant. The Toyota bZ4X uses the X-MODE function (AWD) developed jointly with Subaru and is equipped with the newly developed Grip-Control Intelligent Multi-Terrain Adaptation System. The new car will be equipped with a battery pack jointly developed with CATL AND and will be produced on Toyota's exclusive production line. In terms of endurance, the new car has two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive two-wheel drive two-way power forms, of which the front-wheel drive version of the model has a cruising range of nearly 500km under WLTC conditions, and the DC fast charging mode supports 150kW of power, which can be fully charged to 80% in 30 minutes.

According to Toyota China's plan, the Toyota bZ4X will adopt a two-vehicle strategic model, which will be locally produced by FAW Toyota and GAC Toyota respectively, and the sales side is also planned to be sold by GAC Toyota and FAW Toyota through dual channels.

In addition, the second model of FAW Toyota's new energy vehicle project is a medium and large MPV, which is a sister model of GAC Toyota Xena, based on the American version of Toyota SIENNA, the new car will be equipped with Toyota 2.5L hybrid system in terms of power, and the new car has entered the trial installation stage, and will have a welfare version in the future. The third model is a pure electric model (internal code ev7) cooperated by Toyota and BYD, which is also the first model of Toyota's cooperation with BYD, which will be a pure electric sedan, and "a pure electric global strategic product similar to Corolla", which will not only apply the battery pack provided by BYD, but will also be priced at less than 200,000 yuan. It is reported that the mass production version of the car is expected to be launched at the Beijing Auto Show in April this year, becoming Toyota's second bZ model and going on the market at the end of this year.
