In recent years, shadow puppetry with a thousand-year history has been revitalized in Hualong County, Haidong City, Qinghai Province. Local shadow puppet artists not only pick up the carving knife to make shadow puppets, but also newly formed shadow puppet theater troupes, enter the community and school, pick, pull, shake, shake, continue to create and perform new repertoire that reflects the new era. Shadow puppetry, also known as "shadow play" or "light shadow play", is a kind of folk drama made of animal skins or cardboard silhouettes of characters to perform stories. Shadow puppetry has been inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
