Pu wei once had hopes of becoming emperor, because his grandfather was relatively powerful, and before the death of the Guangxu Emperor, someone recommended Pu Wei, but Cixi did not agree. After the fall of the Qing Dynasty, Pu Wei colluded with the Japanese in the intention of restoring Qing rule, and launched the Manchu-Mongolian independence movement in the northeast, becoming a traitor to the country and seeking glory. In his later years, Pu Wei was poor and finally died in a hotel in Lushun.
