Mr. Zhan said the most recent malfunction occurred on January 28 this year, when he and his family were driving home for the Chinese New Year. Because of the vehicle problem again, the family had to call for roadside assistance in the middle of the night and pay a high price to charter a car to return to their hometown 300 kilometers away.

Because the dashboard of the four faults was displayed as the same fault light, Mr. Zhan believed that his previous repairs in the 4S shop did not eliminate the real faults, and he was now afraid to drive the car again. He hopes that the car manufacturer or 4S shop can bear the total cost of more than 4,000 yuan for the trailer and charter due to the vehicle failure, and completely eliminate the fault in the maintenance.

On February 9, BAIC authorized the 4S repair shop "Shenzhen Yibai Automobile Service Co., Ltd." (hereinafter referred to as Shenzhen Yibai). The relevant person in charge told the surging news that he had received an after-sales call from BAIC. After verification, the reasons for the failure of the car were different several times. Since the vehicle has passed the warranty range, the owner can only repair it at his own expense and cannot meet the requirements of the owner.

Mr. Zhan said he purchased the BAIC BJEV EU5 in March 2019. The first breakdown occurred on October 9 of the same year, just about 7 months after the purchase of the car. During the driving process of the vehicle on the same day, various fault lights and warning lights suddenly flashed on the dashboard, and it was impossible to shift gears, the handbrake failed, and then the wheels locked. At that time, after the vehicle was sent to Shenzhen Yibai by trailer, the staff told them that the failure was an accidental phenomenon, and no repair was carried out.

Mr. Zhan said that in October and December 2021, his car was in the same situation twice, with fault lights flashing and tires locked. He transported the car to "Shenzhen Yibai" through a trailer for repair, and the maintenance staff told him that the two failures were caused by the loss of power in the small battery and the failure of the water pump. Because the vehicle has passed the warranty range, he has carried out these two repairs at his own expense of more than 1,000 yuan.

Just one month after the third repair, his car had a flashing fault light and locked wheels halfway through for the fourth time.

Mr. Zhan said it was January 28, 2022, and he and his family were on their way home for the Chinese New Year. Because it was close to the New Year and the time of the day was late, the vehicle failure brought him great inconvenience. At that time, he and his family had to call for roadside assistance in the middle of the night and pay a high price to charter a car to return to their hometown 300 kilometers away. Since the vehicle has left the downtown area of Shenzhen, this time it has incurred a trailer cost of more than 3,000 yuan and a chartered car cost of about 1,500 yuan.

Mr. Zhan said that after the vehicle was towed back to the "Shenzhen Yibai" auto repair shop, the store maintenance staff told him that the failure was due to the damage of the small battery. But he said he had only replaced the small battery during the October 2021 repair and did not approve of the repair conclusion.

Mr. Zhan said that the four fault dashboards showed exactly the same state, and he believed that several repairs had not eliminated the real fault point, and suspected that the vehicle had quality problems. "I certainly don't dare to drive this car again until the real cause of the failure is solved, and who knows what day there will be another problem on the way."

In addition to completely solving the problem of vehicle failure, he also hopes that the manufacturer or the "Shenzhen Yibai" auto repair shop can bear the towing costs and chartered car costs caused by his last failure, totaling more than 4,000 yuan.

Auto repair shop: Several failures have different causes, and maintenance is at your own expense

On February 9, The Paper contacted BAIC manufacturers on this matter, as well as Shenzhen Yibai, which repaired the car four times.

At about 5 p.m. on the same day, the manager surnamed Zhang, the relevant person in charge of "Shenzhen Yibai", told the surging news that he had received an after-sales call from BAIC. After verification, the reasons for the failure of the car are different, and there is no problem with the previous maintenance of Shenzhen Yibai.

Manager Zhang said that after understanding, the warranty period of Mr. Zhan's vehicle is 3 years or 120,000 kilometers, because the mileage has exceeded the range, Mr. Zhan has to bear the maintenance costs of the vehicle at his own expense.

For Mr. Zhan's questions about the quality of the vehicle, Manager Zhang said, "(New energy) vehicle electrical appliances, no one can guarantee that it will not be a problem."

In response to Mr. Zhan's claim that the 4 faults are the same representation, Manager Zhang said, "The new energy vehicle has a vehicle failure light, and any one (part) is broken, it will light up a vehicle failure light, and it cannot be concluded that the cause of the failure is the same by the same characterization."

Manager Zhang told the surging news that after inspection, several failures of the car were caused by different reasons. The maintenance work order provided by Manager Zhang shows that the car was detected to have a faulty small battery and water pump in the previous two repairs, and has been repaired and replaced accordingly.

Regarding the vehicle failure that occurred this time, Manager Zhang said that after preliminary identification, the failure of Mr. Zhan's vehicle this time may be caused by poor contact with the front cabin relay box. As the warranty period of the vehicle has expired, Mr. Zhan needs to replace the relevant accessories at his own expense. In addition, "Shenzhen Yibai" could not bear the towage fee and charter fee of more than 4,000 yuan according to Mr. Zhan's request.
