Changan UNI-V is priced at 10.89-13.19 million, and the model version of this test drive is 2022 1.5T sporty model, with a secondary top model, priced at 123,900 yuan.
The biggest highlight of the whole car is the appearance, the real car will be more beautiful than the photo, more impactful. The front face is highly original, and The UNI family design of China Net, which is very unfriendly to patients with dense phobia, is very unfriendly. The lines are hard and powerful, and will give you a momentum of forward impact. The visual center of gravity of the whole vehicle is relatively low, and with some of the exterior decoration kits on the sports version, there is a taste of performance cars.
The stiff lines extend all the way to the side of the body, using the fan ecstatic "big slipback" shape, especially in the rear half of the body, more or less borrowed from the design of the previous generation of Audi A7. Regarding the matter of "imitation", only imitating "shape", that is called plagiarism; being able to imitate "rhyme", that is called borrowing, called tribute. Putting the two cars together, it is not difficult to find that UNI-V is not similar, which can remind you of the charming body of the A7, and the details are different everywhere.
The worst thing is that this car actually has an electric rear wing! Audi could not have dreamed that the things he used in the flagship coupe could be bought in China for 120,000 yuan. To be fair, this tail wing is not really helpful for the performance of the whole vehicle, at a speed of 120km/h, it can provide downforce may not be as good as putting tank water in the tail, the only task of this tail wing, is to play handsome!
The UNI-V Sport comes standard with a bilateral four-out valve exhaust, and other versions are also available for money. After opening the valve, you can enjoy a sound wave that far exceeds the actual power output, and from the perspective of "listening", it is bigger than the Shadow Leopard, or even my colleague's 8th generation golf GTI, and belongs to the level that will be targeted by the police uncle. The sound wave is completely emitted by the exhaust pipe, there is no post-acoustic modification, the sound is relatively rough, and the tempering sound can be heard occasionally, close to the kind of custom exhaust pipe that is changed later. When you accelerate at full speed, the exhaust sound gives you the feeling that the car has 400 horsepower, but in fact your power is far less powerful than it sounds, which will give people a sense of separation.

The interior of UNI-V is bolder than the exterior, and the dashboard consists of three LCD screens of different sizes, which is very creative. But because the dashboard is far away from the driver, in order not to block the driver's line of sight, UNI-V uses an up and down flat bottom of the special-shaped steering wheel, such a shape in the aesthetic and grip are very picky, anyway, I don't like it. And the damn thing is that after adjusting to my normal sitting position, the steering wheel will still block part of the contents of the dashboard, adapting to the new steering wheel position and looking at the dashboard comfortably, and you can only choose one of the two. In addition, the car's gear shift paddle response speed is relatively slow, after pressing down, only the dashboard numbers changed, the actual gear shift action to slow down a beat, can only make a vase.
In THE SUPER RACE mode, the display of key driving information such as speed per hour and engine speed is even smaller than that of ordinary driving mode, and the extra space is used to display speed animations that have no effect, and the primary and secondary are reversed.
Thankfully, the UNI-V's central control screen operates surprisingly smoothly, and the response speed of touch and voice is comparable to that of a mobile phone. But the screen will suffer a little bit in size compared to today's new cars.
Under the limited cost control of this price point, Changan has made the carriage look more advanced as much as possible. The seat shape is very sporty, the side wings are well wrapped, and it can provide you with good lateral support when driving intensely, but because it does not support adjustment, it is more picky.
Look handsome is at a cost, the sporty shape makes the UNI-V rear seat space performance a lot of discounts, the rear leg space and head space are relatively cramped, and the seat back angle is relatively steep, the overall comfort is general, the middle platform has a slight bulge, the middle seat is harder, it can be seen that UNI-V is not suitable for long-distance travel with a full load of 5 people.
The UNI-V is equipped with a 1.5T Blue Whale NE engine, with a maximum horsepower of 188 hp and a peak torque of 300 N·m. With it is a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, the full set of power is Changan self-developed, and our Changan Auchan X7 PLUS work car is the same model, I was surprised that the UNI-V tuning is more advanced in comparison, the power output of the initial section is more restrained, and the performance of the congested road section is more smooth.
The UNI-V switches between D and R gears, and the power combination will be slower, the same situation will be encountered when the auto-start-stop and AUTO HOLD are working at the same time.
The actual power level of the UNI-V is satisfactory, after all, the push of the 1.55-ton Auchan X7 PLUS is easy, and pulling the UNI-V, which weighs only 1.4 tons, is not to mention. UNI-V supports ejection in SUPER RACE mode, and our measured acceleration score of 100 km/h is 7.92 seconds. The steering is closer to the "1-2" between. The classic "vegetable plate", biased towards the comfortable, grocery type of steering adjustment, the steering wheel left and right full of 3 circles, the central area of the virtual position is larger, the pointing will not have any sharp feeling, which is also the main reason why I think UNI-V is a grocery shopping car with a strong sense of sports, rather than a sports car.
This is not to belittle UNI-V, on the contrary, I think there is nothing wrong with Changan's calibration, because for 99.99% of consumers, they need a "sense of sport", not "sports", at this price point, the real "sports" must be achieved at the expense of comfort, but as a commuter car, this is obviously not suitable. A car that looks sporty, comfortable and not greasy to drive, and has good power is the correct answer for most people.
Is that really the case? According to my understanding, UNI-V is currently in a state of short supply, taking Guangzhou as an example, there is currently no market offer, there is no existing car, and the booking needs to wait for 1-2 months to pick up the car. According to the sales introduction of Changan Automobile, UNI-V is the best selling in the current "KTV" combination, which shows that the market potential of "the first sports car for young people" is still very large.
If you have the intention of buying UNI-V, I recommend that you buy a sports version priced at 123,900, the daily needs of the configuration is basically complete, the value is also the highest in the whole series, fun electric tail, valve exhaust have been, cost-effective.
