Old rules, this time the test we will continue to use the "digital intelligence + ICBT-100 intelligent cockpit evaluation standard" version 1.0 rules, focusing on intelligent hardware, interaction capabilities, application ecology three categories, while for each category is divided into data + experience two dimensions, and subdivided into more than 30 projects for scoring, to see how the smart car machine we use every day is doing.
Machine hardware
In the intelligent hardware project, we will focus on the screen, basic hardware, and expand the interface of the three major sections for refined scoring, which is also the most intuitive with our daily use.
For the UNI-V cockpit layout, it is definitely a sense of sport, the layered central control shape and a variety of color mixed materials are eye-catching, and the full-angle instrument composed of 3 LCD screens + 10.3-inch central control screens is very clear to display the driving information and multimedia information, and the overall look and feel is absolutely worth the fare.
In the "first glance" screen performance, UNI-V's 10.3-inch central control screen adopts Pegasus's exclusive customized TM103XDHP95 TFT-LCD screen, with a resolution of 1920 * 720 and a response time of 40ms, while the measured PPI reached 199 (RGB standard arrangement), NTCS color gamut of 89.5%, peak brightness reached 883.99nit, the minimum brightness of 0.71 nit, the performance is an excellent level.
It should be noted that the high brightness also brings high temperature, in the test process, the peak temperature of the screen in the car without air conditioning actually broke through 49 degrees Celsius, so that in the process of use there was some hot feeling, it seems that Changan's tuning of the screen is a little too aggressive.
In addition, the actual perception, the viewing angle of the UNI-V central control screen is only at a medium level, and the measured view has reached 78/78/79/78 ° (up/down/left/right viewing angle), and the screen adjustment tends to be warmer; and the screen surface oleophobic effect is general, and the ability to control fingerprints has a big gap with the previous test BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLC.
For the cockpit basic hardware, although UNI-V only officially said that it is equipped with the SuperFast smart chip, under our disassembly analysis, it can be determined that it is equipped with a dual SOC matrix composed of MediaTek MT8666 + Horizon Journey 2, of which MediaTek MT8666 is mainly responsible for the basic operation calculation of the intelligent cockpit system, released in 2018, made of 12 nanometers, using an 8-core structure (A73+A53), The CPU hash rate is 56.8K (2TOPS), the integrated Mali-G53*3 GPU, and the comprehensive computing power is 113GFLOPS (lower than the Qualcomm 820A).
The Horizon Journey 2 chip is mainly used to achieve multi-mode lip talk, line of sight bright screen, gesture interaction, emotion recognition, gender and age detection, smoking phone detection, fatigue monitoring and intervention and other active AI interaction functions, the parameters were released in 2019, 28 nanometers, using independent innovation and development of high-performance computing architecture BPU2.0, can provide more than 4 TOPS equivalent computing power, each TOPS AI power output can reach more than 10 times the same computing power GPU, typical power consumption of 2W. The other memory matched is a combination of 6G (running memory) + 64G (storage).
In the interconnection module part, although UNI-V does not support the mainstream Carplay/Carlife, it is equipped with the CarAuto interconnection system, which supports Apple and Android mobile phones, and can use data cables to connect mobile phones, so as to achieve screen projection, navigation, play video and use mobile phones as handles to play games on car machines.
Although there is a slight gap between the chip performance and the mainstream models, the next system interaction performance is definitely a surprise!
Interactive Capabilities
There is a saying in the IT world: "No matter how good the hardware, without system optimization, it is futile", which reflects the importance of the system. At the same time, the interactive interface is not only the most direct contact between the owner and the car, but also the excellent logic can directly improve the user experience of the entire cockpit, so in this intelligent cockpit test, the interaction ability of the car and the machine occupies a large part, and in this column we are divided into three dimensions: system, voice, and other three dimensions.
Special instructions: In order to show the system logic more directly, we set up a logic challenge competition, that is, within the specified time, let the first-time experience users open each function in turn according to the process: match the mobile phone Bluetooth open Bluetooth music (start playing) Dial 10086 phone (connected) Adjust the brightness of the car screen (adjust to the brightest) navigation destination, see who lasts the shortest time.
UNI-V's car machine based on Android 9.0 developed the In Call car system, the entire interface logic tends to be more functional, the home page adopts a card design, of which the central fixed for the map + air conditioning information card, the right side is fixed for the weather + mode card, and the left side is used to support the playlist recommendation, Bluetooth music, Bluetooth phone and so on to switch up and down.
In addition, there are 5 fixed options on the far left side of the screen: home button, navigation system, multimedia music, vehicle information and applications; at the same time, in addition to the status bar, the upper part can also pull down the shortcut setting menu, and the overall experience is similar to the operation logic of smart devices such as mobile phones and tablets.
Although the logic is quick and convenient, the aesthetics of the system UI are indeed a bit unobtrusive, as if it is like looking at the Android interface a long time ago, the icon confusion is not visually unified.
It is worth mentioning that in addition to the conventional touch screen operation, UNI-V also supports gesture control, and provides 5 kinds of gesture action recognition by default, namely "previous song", "next song", "navigation home", "navigation company", "take a photo". However, from the actual experience, the sensitivity is not as good as the BMW X3 tested last time.
In terms of voice system performance, UNI-V adopts the latest voice interaction system of iFLYTEK, the most mainstream at present, and has two independent microphones in the front row, so as to ensure the recognition of the left and right main and co-pilots and the anti-noise ability.
In terms of actual experience, I have many surprises, not only in terms of function, I can perfectly realize the basic voice navigation, temperature, window, music, volume, weather, etc., but also have custom wake words, continuous dialogue, natural dialogue, context recognition, cross-scene recognition and custom commands, etc.; for the recognition rate + error correction and other capabilities of the test, UNI-V also has a good performance.
The official also announced that this voice system will continue to be updated in the future, adding more accessibility features. It is no exaggeration to say that this voice system has not lost to the higher-level new power players.
In addition, UNI-V also provides a face recognition system, through the camera in front of the steering wheel, to identify the user's identity, so as to automatically call the exclusive vehicle settings, and can synchronously log in to QQ music, Himalayas and other ecological accounts.
In addition, the camera above the front row of the car also adds scene-based active interaction capabilities, such as realizing that when the central control screen is in a state of screen off, the driver looks at the screen for 1 second, the screen will automatically light up; when the co-driver and occupants are recognized smoking, they can moderately open the window and open the air purification in the car according to the speed of the car; when the occupants answer the phone, the system will automatically reduce the multimedia volume, stop answering and automatically restore the volume; the system can identify the frequency of the driver's blinking and yawning, determine the fatigue driving level, and use voice warning. Fatigue intervention is carried out in a funny way; the occupant says "I want to take a picture" or "321 beats", which can turn on the camera function, and the lip-assisted recognition algorithm can effectively reduce noise interference.
Application Ecology
But through the phenomenon to see the essence, we will find that to achieve a truly intelligent cockpit, it is not only dependent on the car system itself, but to join a richer application ecology, after all, there is not enough application ecology, the system itself does not have much value, which is connected with the current hot IT industry.
UNI-V is general in this part, although the APP with QQ Music, iQiyi, Himalaya, Ku me, Sing Bar and Douyin can meet most of the daily needs, and supports the expansion of car mini programs, but the number of applications provided in the app store is small, and it does not support third-party APK file installation.
Fortunately, UNI-V can turn the phone into a gamepad and play classic mini-games on the CarAuto Internet.
However, on the good side, UNI-V original factory provides a variety of car modes, such as "fresh refreshing mode" can keep the air conditioner at 18 ° C, the wind from 0-5 cycle back and forth, start the face/foot blowing wind direction, and synchronously play exciting music, thus playing a role in awakening.

As we all know, with the improvement of the level of intelligence of the car, the significant change of the intelligent cockpit is from passive interaction (initiated by people) to active interaction (both people or machines can initiate), and the way to obtain content and services has increased, so the car-machine system needs a more active, natural and emotional experience to further meet the needs of occupants for cockpit infotainment and work activities.
At the same time, the definition brought about by the rich cockpit data is also more complex, and our "Digital Intelligence + ICBT-100 Intelligent Cockpit Evaluation Standard" is to explore a meaningful and practical intelligent experience for consumers, so that the intelligent cockpit has been carefully split, so as to more clearly understand the advantages and disadvantages of each model of smart cockpit.
On the Changan UNI-V tested this time, through a large number of interactive innovations and experience innovation technologies, we also saw the progress of our own brands in the intelligent cockpit, especially the system logic/response and intelligent voice, although in the context of similar hardware, Changan gave us a more comfortable feeling through the perfection of software, which is very worth learning from some OEMs.
At the same time, although the final total score of 60.5 is not as good as the new force opponents such as Wei Xiaoli at the head of the ranking, you must know that this is only a people-friendly model in the early 100,000s, and its total score also exceeds the BBA traditional luxury brand main sales model, such a domestic "performance" small steel cannon, I can't help but look forward to the performance of more and more domestic models, I believe that in the near future, our Chinese cars will refresh our cognition in terms of intelligent performance.
