From December 1987 to January 1989, the 839th Reconnaissance Brigade of the 15th Reconnaissance Brigade, formed by the 64th Army of the Shenyang Military Region, was tasked with reconnaissance of 62 kilometers in Dulong Town, Maguan County, Yunnan Province. Deputy Brigade Commander Xu Jun (1st from the left), as the first-line commander, led the reconnaissance detachment out of the country to carry out 452 reconnaissance missions, killing 43 Vietnamese troops, wounding 19 enemies and capturing 12 enemy.

Xu Jun is a commander with both wisdom and courage, good fighting, high martial arts, excellent military technology and super field survivability.
