It is understood that the new car was designed by Joakim Rydholm, chief chassis engineer of Polestar, to improve the handling accuracy of Polestar 2. Specifically, Rydholm, along with his team, tweaked the Polestar 2 dual-motor long-endurance version, including improved body height, increased power and torque output to 469 horsepower and 680 Nm peak torque, and custom 19-inch winter tires that made the new car more agile on winter snow and ice.

However, the car will not have any mass production plans, and the reason for this model is mainly to prepare for the winter test of the Polar Star. It is understood that the polar star winter test is carried out for a total of 15 weeks from December to March every year, and the test site is selected in the Arctic Circle above 66 degrees north latitude. Winter testing is now also a standard practice for electric vehicles, and cold weather can have a significant impact on batteries.
