During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, the Western Wei Dynasty was the seventh year of the Sixth Month of the Western Wei Dynasty, that is, July 21, 541 AD, the thirteenth day of the sixth lunar month, the evening. A baby boy was born at Banruo Temple in Tongzhou (now Dali County, Shaanxi Province), when the sunset was set and the sky was full of red light, reflecting the Panruo Temple with golden splendor, and later generations recorded: "At that time, the red light illuminated the room, overflowing with outdoor purple gas", as if heralding the extraordinary and auspicious nature of the newborn.
Yang Zhong, the famous Governor of Yunzhou and Governor of Western Wei, gave his son the name "Jian", nicknamed "Naroyan", "Naroyan" is a Sanskrit transliteration, referring to the ancient god Vishnu in the Indian mythological system, which refers to the meaning of Vajrapani in the Buddhist scriptures. Yang Jian grew up in the Prajnaparamita Temple, deeply influenced by Buddhism, and when he first understood things, he was repeatedly instilled that he was not a mortal, but the reincarnation of the Protector Vajrapani, shouldering the heavy responsibility of propagating the Dharma in the world, destined to become a great man and achieve a magnificent cause.

Enlightenment education has cultivated Yang Jian's leadership-like ambition and deep character, and the significance of Yang Jian's life is not only himself, but perhaps many people have not fully realized it.
In 557, the Northern Zhou chancellor DuGu xin married his daughter Dugu Jialuo to the seventeen-year-old Yang Jian. Her surname is Du lonely, the character Jia Luo, a native of Luoyang, Henan, and a member of the Xianbei ethnic group. "Garo" is also a very Buddhist name, Sanskrit transliteration refers to incense burner wood, agarwood wood, Qinan incense, the history books record that she "good at reading, knowledge of the present and ancient". The names of the two people are deeply rooted in Buddhism, sincere in love, meet whiteheads, and never change their hearts.
However, during the Southern and Northern Dynasties, it was a period of great turmoil and chaos, and the newlywed Yu Duguxin died in a coup d'état, and the family road declined. Yang Jian had to taoguang to raise obscurity, and the couple supported each other to tide over the difficulties. Later, Emperor Xuan of Zhou ascended the throne, and Yang Jian's daughter Yang Lihua became empress. Emperor Xuan of Zhou was violent and cruel, and he made many empresses and wanted Yang Lihua to commit suicide. At the critical moment, the lone Garo broke into the palace and "prostrated his head and bled", saving the Yang family from disaster.

Emperor Xuan of Zhou soon fell ill and died, and Emperor Xuan's son, Emperor Jing, succeeded him at the age of nine. Yang Jian entered the palace to assist the government, and finally gradually controlled the central power center. But after all, the Yang family has a weak foundation and is in the political arena. At the critical moment, Dugu Jia Luo encouraged her husband: "Great things have already happened, and the power of riding the beast will not be able to go down. She enumerated the lessons of history and suggested that her husband seize the opportunity to change the dynasty and become a hero of the first generation, giving Yang Jian the greatest support and encouragement. Lonely Garo really did not let his eyebrows be raised, showing the courage of a bold and decisive politician.
In 581, Yang Jian took the throne as emperor and established the Sui Dynasty, making Dugu Jialuo empress. The couple had ten children, and worked with one heart and one mind to complete a series of grand undertakings of rich countries and strong soldiers in the early Sui Dynasty, and had outstanding performance in the political system, economy, culture, military and other aspects, which profoundly affected the social development of the feudal dynasty for more than a thousand years in the future.
During the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Buddhism flourished, and the magnates, nobles, and literati generally used Buddhist deities as their names. For example, in the Southern Dynasty, there were Wang Shengda, Wang Shengyou, Wang Sangqian, etc.; in the Northern Dynasty, there were Yuan Luosha, Gao Bodhisattva, Erzhu Wenshu, and so on. And Na Luo Yan and Du Lonely Garo are more like three lives in the underworld, and have walked through the storms of life for nearly fifty years hand in hand. In the magnificent years of Yang Jian's life, his beloved wife Jia Luo has always been his closest lover, confidant, think tank and spiritual pillar.
Yang Jian was one of the rare monogamous feudal emperors in history, and Dugu Jialuo was also a rare empress who maintained a strong influence on the monarch throughout her life.
