1, the Spring Festival was not called "Spring Festival" before
The name of the Spring Festival in different periods in ancient times was also different, the Tang and Song Dynasties, yuanming, called "New Year's Day", "Yuan", "Year Day", "Xinzheng", etc.; and the Qing Dynasty, has always been called "New Year's Day" or "Yuan Day". In 1911, in order to "line the Xiali, so shunnong time; from the Western calendar, so the statistics were made", it was decided to use the Gregorian calendar. In this way, January 1 of the Gregorian calendar is called New Year's Day, and the first day of the first lunar month is called spring festival.
2, the ancient Spring Festival is not on the first day of the first month
The current Spring Festival is on the first day of the first lunar month, but the time of the first month in Chinese history is different, and the Xia Dynasty uses Mengchun (that is, the first month) as the first month. The Shang Dynasty used the Waxing Moon (December) as the first month. After Qin Shi Huang unified the Six Kingdoms, it was stipulated that October was the first month, and the Qin calendar was used in the early Han Dynasty. In 104 BC, the formulation of the Taichu Calendar changed the original October as the head of the year to Meng Chun, and the Spring Festival time was determined.

3, the Spring Festival may be two
When will there be two "Spring Festivals"? It is the time of the leap month, but the number of leap months in history is countless, and according to historical records, the earliest leap months appeared in the Song Dynasty. The next leap month will wait until 2262, and we have no chance to meet.
4, the year has the zodiac sign, the first month also has the "day of the six animals"
Since the Qin and Han Dynasties, folk sayings have been from the first day of the first month to the sixth day of the first year, which are chicken day, dog day, pig day, sheep day, cow day and horse day, and the seventh day of the first year is the day of man. Legend has it that Nuwa first built chickens, dogs, pigs, sheep, cattle, and horses in six days, and only after accumulating experience did she create people on the seventh day.

5, Chinese New Year's Eve will also be in the "twenty-nine"
Did you find it? There is no Chinese New Year's Eve this year, which is related to the continental calendar. The lunar calendar is calculated according to the change of the moon's circle and is called "synodic moon" in astronomy. From "Shuo" to "Wang" to the next "Shuo", a cycle of about 29.53 days, so there are 30 days of the big month and 29 days of the small month in the lunar calendar. This year's Waxing Moon coincides with a small month, only 29 days, so there is no Chinese New Year's Eve.
6, press the age of money is not actually "money"
The earliest "pressing money" appeared in the Han Dynasty, and the original name was called "pressing the winning money". This coin is not intended for circulation, but is an ornamental, wearable coin-shaped ornament. In ancient times, the younger generations wore the "pressing money" rewarded by the elders like a jade pendant on their bodies as an ornament to ward off evil spirits and ensure peace.

7. The word "Fu" is pasted upside down
When the Spring Festival comes, every household will put a "blessing" on the gate. Some people paste "Fu" upside down, because the harmonic sound of Fu pouring is "Fu to". However, in the folk tradition, water tanks and garbage cans should be pasted with the word Fu. This is to avoid pouring away the blessings of the family when pouring water and garbage, so I paste the word blessing in these two places and skillfully use "blessing to" to offset "blessing".
8, the earliest firecrackers are really bamboo
"In addition to the sound of firecrackers, the spring breeze sends warmth into the Tusu", firecrackers have a history of more than 2,000 years in the Spring Festival. In ancient China, when there was no gunpowder and paper, people put bamboo in the fire to make a sound, so that it burst into a sound to expel the plague god, because the bamboo burned to make a "crackling" sound, so it was called firecrackers.

9. There is learning to hold fists in the New Year
In the mainland, there is a difference between the gestures of men and women to worship the New Year, men to hold their fists to "left and right", traditional Chinese customs are still left and right, so when holding fists, you must use your left hand to wrap your right hand, which is called "Ji Bai";
If the right hand is wrapped around the left hand, it is called a "mourning fist", which is a gesture used to report to others or ask for forgiveness. Women hold their fists in the opposite direction, but don't make a mistake.
10, the Spring Festival also has "Spring Festival old man"
During the Yuan Dynasty of Emperor Wu of Han, the calendar was very chaotic due to years of maintenance, and it was incompatible with the celestial signs that affected agricultural production, so Emperor Wu of Han ordered the compilation of a new calendar. At that time, the first month of the year was the beginning of the year, the Spring Festival was the spring festival, and the new year and the spring were not necessarily the same. Luo Hong and others revised an almanac that unified "greeting the new year" and "welcoming spring" and using it to this day. Since Luo Hong is an astronomer who determines the Spring Festival in the calendar, the people affectionately call him "Spring Festival Old Man".
