It is understood that before joining Xiaomi, Chang Cheng served as vice president of Lenovo Group and head of mobile phone business. After joining Xiaomi, Changcheng once fell into a non-compete with its former owner, Lenovo Group.

Chang Cheng joined Lenovo in 2000 and has led the research and development of Lenovo desktop computers, laptops and smart phones, and has a large wave of hardcore fans, and is affectionately known as "Chang Shou".

On September 17, 2020, Lenovo Group confirmed that it had submitted a labor arbitration to a dispute concerning the violation of non-compete obligations by Chang Cheng, the former head of Lenovo Mobile China, and that the Lenovo Restrictive Agreement signed by Chang Cheng on July 24, 2017 was signed by chang cheng on July 24, 2017.

On October 9, 2020, the Beijing Haidian District Labor and Personnel Dispute Arbitration Commission announced the result of the ruling that Changcheng violated the non-compete agreement and was required to pay Lenovo a liquidated damages of RMB5,252,821 and 9 points for breach of non-compete obligations, and continue to perform its non-compete obligations.
