Tesla introduced in the document that Zhu Xiaotong joined Tesla in April 2014 and served in various operational positions, and was later appointed as vice president of Greater China, leading the construction and operation of Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory. Xiaotong holds a bachelor's degree from Auckland University of Technology and an MBA from Duke University.
At the same time, Tesla also listed three other senior management: Tesla CEO Elon Musk, CFO Zachary Kirkhorn and Andrew Baglino, senior vice president of power and energy engineering.
Zhu Xiaotong's path to promotion began at the end of last year. According to a report by Bloomberg on December 8 last year, due to the capacity problem of the Texas Gigafactory, Musk "named" Zhu Xiaotong to the United States to help supervise its capacity expansion. Later, when Tesla celebrated the new milestone of 3,000 Model Y per week at the Texas Gigafactory, Zhu Xiaotong also appeared in the factory group photo released by Tesla.
On January 3 this year, Reuters reported that Zhu Xiaotong, the head of Tesla China, has been promoted to Tesla's global management position, responsible for sales in the US factory and North America and Europe. At the same time, Zhu Xiaotong still held the top management position in Tesla China, as well as the head of sales in the rest of Asia, and Zhu Xiaotong was promoted to the "number two person" in Tesla's automotive business.
On March 2, Zhu Xiaotong appeared at the Tesla Investor Day to introduce Tesla's factories and production capacity as a senior executive of the company, and he also focused on the achievements of the Shanghai Gigafactory in construction and production.
Tesla Shanghai Gigafactory and Zhu Xiaotong can be described as mutual achievements. In April 2014, Zhu Xiaotong joined Tesla to lead the development of Tesla China Supercharger stations. Zhu Xiaotong played an important role in the rapid development of Tesla's China Supercharger stations. During this period, Tesla built nearly 40 Supercharger stations in China and more than 600 destination charging piles in more than 60 cities across the country.
Just over half a year later, he quickly took over as head of Tesla China. In December 2014, Zhu Xiaotong was appointed as Tesla's global vice president and president of China, responsible for Tesla's business in Greater China and the construction and operation of Tesla's Gigafactory in Shanghai. Under the leadership of Zhu Xiaotong, Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory has an annual production capacity of more than 750,000 vehicles, which is Tesla's highest production capacity Gigafactory and an important export center for Tesla in the world.
