Huafu is determined to inherit the Chinese clothing culture and deliver academic achievements, viewpoints and information on the study of clothing culture to the clothing industry. We hope to think a little further, help everyone to make efforts in their respective fields, and further do a good job in the communication between clothing culture and all walks of life. With clothing culture as the core, we will support colleges and universities and brands to make a modest contribution to the development of traditional chinese clothing culture.

In 2021, we invited experts and scholars in various apparel fields to publish many articles and online lectures, and behind each content output, we showed the scientific research achievements and academic attitudes of scholars. On this occasion of retiring the old and welcoming the new, let us feel the charm of traditional Chinese costume culture in retrospect!

Han Chinese

Han costume culture has a long history, broad and profound, occupies an important position in the treasure house of world culture, especially some classic traditional costumes in modern times, and is a precious cultural heritage with high artistic aesthetic value and academic research value. However, due to the strong influence of Western culture for more than a century, the Westernization of Han costumes has gradually deepened, and for a long time, the protection, inheritance and research of traditional costumes have not received due attention. These distinctive costumes quickly faded away or even disappeared. Today, with the enhancement of the mainland's comprehensive national strength, people have begun a new understanding and pursuit of traditional and ethnic culture, and traditional costumes have also shown new vitality in life. Therefore, it has important academic value and practical significance to systematically sort out and study the classic traditional costumes of the Han nationality, and to analyze and summarize the artistic characteristics and decorative rules of their representative patterns.

Dunhuang

Located in northwest China, Dunhuang is an important town on the ancient Silk Road, and is the key to the cultural exchange between the western region and even European culture and the Han chinese in the Central Plains. Since its founding in 366 AD, dunhuang Mogao Grottoes has undergone thousands of years of development, and the Buddhist cultural and artistic achievements it has preserved have strong historical value.

The annual "Dunhuang Costume Culture Forum" is held annually at the Beijing Institute of Fashion. The event was hosted by Beijing Institute of Fashion, organized by Dunhuang Fashion Culture Research and Innovative Design Center, and supported by China Textile Publishing House Co., Ltd. and Huafuzhi website.
