ACCORDING TO THE NEWS ON JANUARY 27, ACCORDING TO COINDESK, South Korea's oldest private art museum will auction off two sculptures designated as "national treasures" by the South Korean government, and two decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs) will participate in the bidding. The two sculptures, one is an 11th-century miniature gilded bronze shrine with a Buddha statue, and the other is a 6th-century gilded bronze triad of Buddhas, one of fewer than 400 works of art designated by the Korean government as a national treasure.
It is reported that the National Treasure DAO and Heritage DAO are formed independently of each other. But they have a common goal: to prevent artifacts from ending up in private collections, because then the public won't be able to see them.
