According to Jiwei Network, the South Korean government decided to invest 402.7 billion won in seven years to develop memory processing (PIM) chips. This investment is another investment after the 1.01 trillion won PIM chip development project invested in 2020-2029.

According to businesskorea, PIM chips are characterized by the installation of AI processors in memory, and the technology is becoming a new paradigm in the artificial intelligence chip industry.

The South Korean government has decided to provide 8.5 billion won this year as an API cost so that non-large companies can better develop AI solutions and services based on hyperscale AI models developed by large companies. At the same time, large GPU computing resources will increasingly be shared with non-large enterprises, research institutions, and universities.

It is expected that by 2025, the Korean government's AI center will contain more than 1,300 different types of shared AI training data. In addition, the South Korean government plans to select three universities this year that will offer AI chip development courses related to electrical and electronic engineering, computer engineering and physics.
