To achieve this goal, the South Korean government decided to allocate 2.4 trillion won for the popularization of new energy vehicles, and it is expected that 165,000 new energy vehicles will benefit, and the amount of subsidies for each car will be about 5 million won. It is reported that the number and speed of new energy vehicles in South Korea in recent years have steadily increased, the number of new energy vehicles in 2019 was 96,000, in 2020 rose to 149,000, as of November this year, the number of domestic new energy vehicles reached 248,000.
The South Korean government will also promote the conversion of taxis, buses and trucks to new energy vehicles. In order to solve the problem of inconvenient charging, the government will set up 60,000 new electric vehicle charging piles and 300 hydrogen fuel vehicle refueling stations.
In addition, in order to encourage the public to buy new energy vehicles, the Korean government has decided to "lead by example" and realize the voluntary purchase of new energy vehicles by the public sector by the second half of next year, and the private sector will convert new energy vehicles centered on enterprises with large car ownership.
