Revenue: The communications industry is stable and good
First of all, the revenue of telecommunications services has increased steadily, and the total amount of telecommunications services has grown rapidly.
After preliminary accounting, the total revenue of telecommunications services in 2021 will reach 1.47 trillion yuan, an increase of 8.0% over the previous year, and the growth rate will increase by 4.1% year-on-year. The total amount of telecommunications services calculated at the price of the previous year reached 1.7 trillion yuan, an increase of 27.8% year-on-year.

Secondly, the steady growth of data and Internet business revenue is still the main source of income.
In 2021, fixed data and Internet services achieved revenue of 260.1 billion yuan, an increase of 9.3% over the previous year, accounting for 17.8% of telecommunications business revenue from 17.4% in the previous year; mobile data and Internet services achieved revenue of 640.9 billion yuan, an increase of 3.3% over the previous year.
Third, emerging businesses have achieved rapid growth and enhanced their role in pulling business.
The development of emerging services such as cloud computing and big data accelerated, and the revenue of related services in 2021 was 222.5 billion yuan, an increase of 27.8% over the previous year, and the proportion of telecommunications business revenue increased from 12.8% in the previous year to 15.2%. Among them, data center, cloud computing, and big data business increased by 18.4%, 91.5% and 35.5% respectively over the previous year.
Fourth, the revenue of voice business continues to decline, and the proportion continues to shrink.
In 2021, the three major operators completed fixed voice and mobile voice service revenue of 22.4 billion yuan and 115.5 billion yuan, down 9% and 3% respectively from the previous year, accounting for 9.4% of the total revenue of telecommunications services, accounting for 1.2% lower than the previous year.

5G: 355 million subscribers and 1.425 million 5G base stations
Overall, the scale of mobile phone users will grow slightly in 2021, and the number of 5G users will expand rapidly.
The data shows that in 2021, the net increase of telephone users nationwide was 47.55 million, reaching a total of 1.824 billion. Among them, the total number of mobile phone users was 1.643 billion, a net increase of 48.75 million in the whole year, and the penetration rate was 116.3 units/100 people, an increase of 3.4 units/100 people over the end of the previous year.
Among them, 4G mobile phone users are 1.069 billion households, and 5G mobile phone users reach 355 million households, accounting for 86.7% of the number of mobile phone users. The total number of fixed-line telephone subscribers was 181 million, a net decrease of 1.21 million in the whole year, and the penetration rate fell to 12.8 units per 100 people.
Of course, last year's fixed asset investment was basically the same as last year's, and 5G investment accounted for nearly half.
In 2021, the three major operators and China Tower Co., Ltd. completed a total investment of 405.8 billion yuan in telecom fixed assets. Among them, the fixed asset investment in mobile communications was 194.3 billion yuan, accounting for 47.9% of the total investment; the 5G investment reached 184.9 billion yuan, accounting for 45.6% of the total investment, accounting for an increase of 8.9% over the previous year.
In addition, with the deepening of 5G investment, the construction of 5G networks is also accelerating, and network coverage continues to advance.
In 2021, the total number of mobile communication base stations nationwide reached 9.96 million, a net increase of 650,000 for the whole year. Among them, 5.9 million 4G base stations, 1.425 million 5G base stations, and more than 650,000 new 5G base stations were built throughout the year.

Broadband: 100 Megabits of broadband users accounted for 93%, and rural broadband double-digit growth
After a year of development in 2021, the proportion of broadband access users at 100 megabytes and above continues to rise, and gigabit users have accelerated their development.
By the end of 2021, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users of the three major operators will reach 536 million, a net increase of 52.24 million for the whole year. Among them, the number of users with access rates of 100Mbps and above was 498 million, a net increase of 63.85 million households in the whole year, accounting for 93% of the total number of users, accounting for an increase of 3.1% compared with the end of the previous year; the number of users with access rates of 1000Mbps and above was 34.56 million, a net increase of 28.16 million households over the end of the previous year.

The proportion of users at each access rate
At the same time, in terms of regional development, the proportion of fixed Internet broadband access users with 100 megabytes and above in all regions has reached a high level.
By the end of 2021, the number of fixed Internet broadband access users with a rate of 100Mbps and above in the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions reached 212.61 million, 125.12 million, 130.77 million and 29.98 million, accounting for 92.6%, 94.1%, 92.6% and 93.3% of the broadband access users in the region, respectively, accounting for 3.7, 3.3, 2.3 and 2.1% higher than the previous year.
It is worth mentioning that rural broadband users have grown rapidly, and the growth rate has remained double digits. By the end of 2021, the total number of rural broadband users in the country will reach 158 million, a net increase of 15.81 million for the whole year, an increase of 11% over the end of the previous year, and the growth rate will be 0.4% higher than that of urban broadband users.
With the in-depth promotion of the construction of the whole optical network, the length of new optical cable lines will be 3.19 million kilometers in 2021, and the total length of optical cable lines in the country will reach 54.88 million kilometers.
Among them, the length of long-distance optical cable lines, local network relay optical cable lines and access network optical cable lines reached 1.126 million, 18.74 million and 35.02 million kilometers respectively, and the length of optical cable lines in the access network increased by 2.97 million kilometers compared with the previous year, further ensuring and supporting the quality of user services.
In addition, by the end of 2021, the number of Internet broadband access ports reached 1.018 billion, a net increase of 71.8 million over the end of the previous year. Among them, the number of optical fiber access (FTTH/O) ports reached 960 million, a net increase of 80.17 million over the end of the previous year, accounting for 94.3% from 93% at the end of the previous year.
Mobile SMS: The amount is not synchronized
In the past year, mobile SMS services have shown a situation where the volume is not synchronized. In 2021, the national mobile SMS service volume decreased by 1% compared with the previous year, the mobile SMS service revenue increased by 6.6% over the previous year, and the growth rate of mobile SMS service volume decreased from 15.4% in the previous year to 7.6%.
The growth rate of voice business volume turned positive. In 2021, mobile phone calls nationwide will last 2.27 trillion minutes, an increase of 1.1 percent over the previous year.

Revenue growth
At this time, mobile Internet traffic is also growing rapidly, with a record monthly average of household traffic (DOU).
In 2021, mobile Internet access reached 221.6 billion GB, an increase of 33.9% over the previous year. The average monthly mobile Internet household traffic (DOU) reached 13.36GB/month, an increase of 29.2% over the previous year; the monthly DOU in December reached 14.72GB/household, a record high. Among them, mobile Internet traffic reached 212.5 billion GB, an increase of 35.5% over the previous year, accounting for 95.9% of the total mobile Internet traffic.
However, the difference between the east and the west is still quite large. In 2021, the mobile Internet access traffic in the eastern, central, western and northeastern regions reached 94.7 billion GB, 49.4 billion GB, 65.5 billion GB and 12 billion GB respectively, an increase of 35.3%, 38.2%, 29.7% and 28.9% respectively over the previous year, and the growth rate of the central region was 2.9%, 8.5% and 9.3% higher than that of the eastern, western and northeastern regions.
In the month of December, the average household traffic in the western region reached 16.45GB per household per month, which was 1.94GB, 2.34GB and 4.98GB higher than that in the east, central and northeast china, respectively.
Cellular IoT users reached 1.399 billion and IPTV subscribers reached 349 million
New formats are booming, and the scale of cellular IoT users and IPTV continues to expand. By the end of 2021, the three major operators will develop 1.399 billion cellular IoT users, a net increase of 264 million households in the whole year, of which the end users used in smart public utilities, intelligent manufacturing and smart transportation will account for 22.4%, 18.1% and 15.6% respectively.
In 2021, the total number of IPTV (network television) subscribers reached 349 million, a net increase of 33.36 million in the whole year.
