After thinking about several cars, I decided to get the Cadillac CT6 with the SUPER CRUISE super assisted driving system to try it out.

As for SUPER CRUISE, it's not perfect either. There are good and bad parts of this system, let's talk about the good parts first.
SUPER CRUISE can be simply seen as a single-lane automatic driving assistance system, which does not have the function of automatic lane change. But simple single lane assistance is good enough.
In the part of the adaptive cruise system to follow the acceleration and deceleration force and lane keeping ability, the SUPER CRUISE system performed well. Acceleration and deceleration control is actually nothing to say, the current driving assistance will not be too bad, but SUPER CRUISE in the vehicle lanes to change lanes to the front, will not immediately come to a foot brake, but will slowly slow down and pull away the distance when the distance is controlled. This performance is good.

In terms of detecting the driver's attention, SUPER CRUISE's detection method can be said to be the best in the recently driven car.
There are two traditional detection methods, one is that the steering wheel is detected for a period of time without action input, and a prompt will appear to let the driver turn the steering wheel lightly. The other is to add pressure or electric induction at 3 or 9 o'clock on the steering wheel, which can be detected by the system when the hand is equipped with the corresponding position.
SUPER CRUISE, on the other hand, takes a different approach. At 10 and 2 o'clock on the steering wheel, there are three infrared light sources to fill the light, and a camera is set up behind the steering wheel to monitor the driver's line of sight in real time.
When the driver is observing the road normally and turning on THE SUPER CRUISE, the steering wheel will light up green, and the system will not exit even if the driver does not touch the steering wheel. When the driver's line of sight is out of the usual situation, such as looking at the mobile phone, looking at the car machine, etc., the green light on the steering wheel will continue to flash, accompanied by some prompt tones to prompt the driver to return to the normal regulatory state. Moreover, due to the use of infrared light source to fill the light, the system can also be applied at night.

This method reduces the number of steering wheel operations by the driver compared to traditional detection methods. Since it is real-time detection, detection speed when the driver is distracted is also faster than traditional methods.
To a certain extent, the author believes that this detection method is the essence of SUPER CRUISE, which can work almost all day, the detection speed is fast enough, and the interference with the driver is relatively small, which brings a better experience, which should be the most comfortable driver assistance system that the author has recently used.
Okay, let's look at the bad spots. The only bad thing about this SUPER CRUISE is that there are too few sections of road that can be applied.
To use this system, you need detailed data of the current road, and it is high-precision map data. But the biggest use of this map data is actually to let vehicles determine which sections of the road can use the SUPER CRUISE system.

For example, in the test drive, we took a newly opened highway (S1 Guanglian Expressway), when there were few vehicles on the road, the lane line was very clear, and it was supposed to be the best section to open the driving assistance. However, due to the new high-speed, there is no relevant high-precision map data on the CT6, so this high-speed cannot open SUPER CRUISE.
In addition, on highways with road information, SUPER CRUISE is not always available. After we turn into Leguang Expressway, the SUPER CRUISE system can be turned on normally, but when we walk to the place where there is a gate, SUPER CRUISE will automatically exit and ask the driver to take over, even if it is driving in the first and second lanes on the left side.
Therefore, high-precision maps are more for vehicles to judge the road sections that can use SUPER CRUISE, no road information, and no forks. After exiting SUPER CRUISE, the vehicle can only be used for longitudinal adaptive cruise and cannot actively remain in the middle of the lane.
In my opinion, this permission is a bit too dead, and the way of handling it is too rigid. In contrast, mainstream brands such as Tesla, Weilai, Ideal, and even Lynk & Co and Geely will not limit so much in the opening conditions of driver assistance systems. This is also where Cadillac's SUPER CRUISE needs to adjust.
However, the flaws are not hidden. Cadillac's SUPER CRUISE is indeed comfortable enough to use, as long as the problem of using the scene is solved, this system may be the best driver assistance system in the same class.
