It is understood that the three painters participating in this exhibition are all natives of Hainan and have been obedient for many years. They have similar interests, are obsessed with Chinese landscape painting, and often travel together to collect wind and sketch, footprints throughout the deep mountains and rainforests of Hainan, rural secluded wilderness. "The three teachers love this hot land and spend their lives exploring the best ink language for expressing the Hainan region." Zou Zhi, director of Chu Yunxuan Art Museum, said that the three painters in the exhibition have different expression techniques, harmony and differences, which can meet the diverse aesthetic needs of the viewer.
Among the paintings on display, Ma Qiongyan's paintings such as "Scenery of a Small Fishing Village" and "Spring Light in Layers of Mountains" use the natural scenery of Yangpu and Lishan Miaozhai in Hainan to praise the new atmosphere of Hainan Free Trade Port; Fu Shixiong's "Hainan Tropical Rainforest" series of paintings, drawing on the brushwork of Song Mi's landscape, inspired by Su Dongpo's poetic "Thousand Mountains Moving Scales", show the strange scenery of Hainan's tropical rainforest with smoke and rain and lushness; Lin Jian's paintings such as "Rich in Jiashan" and "Beautiful Pictures of Jiashan Mountain" are warmly and unrestrained with brush and ink. The colorful colors depict the new changes and new atmosphere in the countryside of Hainan.
"It may be difficult for tourists from other provinces to travel all over Hainan, and it is difficult for locals to go deep into the mountains and forests to understand Hainan, and we want to show the local customs of Hainan characteristics through painting exhibitions." Ma Qiongyan said that the three painters participating in the exhibition traveled to large and small places in Hainan, including Lingshui, Baoting, Qiongzhong, Ledong, Baisha, Changjiang and other places.
"I especially like the landscape of Hainan, and the folk customs and characters of the local countryside are very distinctive." Ma Qiongyan is 67 years old this year, with a tough body, he has always insisted on art creation, especially like to drive alone to the mountains and forests, and stop to paint when he sees the beautiful scenery. "Hainan is so beautiful, I plan to keep painting until I'm too old to move."
