On April 30th, in the late spring season of Nanguo Flower City, the "Late Spring Covenant - Ding Songjian Landscape Oil Painting Exhibition" sponsored by the Bay Area Bookstore opened in the Bay District Bookstore in Pearl River Park. The exhibition uses the three keywords of "late spring", "leisurely" and "true self" to connect a theme about spring and artistic ideals.
"Those who have twilight spring, those who have taken spring clothes, those who have five or six crowns, six or seven children, those who bathe in Yi, those who dance in the wind, and those who return from singing." - "Analects and Advancement". Zeng Hao's simple scene of young and old meeting for a spring outing contains the highest ideals of Confucius, China's greatest educator. At the exhibition site of the Pearl River Park Bay Area Book House, the organizers let the artist lead art lovers and citizens to conduct a free and artistic spring tour through the exhibition of works, art exchanges and on-site sketching activities, and jointly experience the "beauty of late spring".
Ding Songjian
The exhibition features three chapters: "Leisurely", "Elsewhere" and "Looking at the Sea", and exhibits more than 20 landscape paintings created by Ding Songjian in recent years. Ding Songjian can be described as an "old Guangmei", he graduated from the affiliated middle school of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 1983, was admitted to the oil painting department of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, stayed in Guangmei to teach after graduation, and in 2013 was transferred to the affiliated middle school of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts as the principal. Ding Songjian has multiple identities such as artist, educator and manager, but he believes that he is still a pure "painter" in his bones, and he is obsessed with landscape painting.
At the scene of the exhibition, from the window, citizens and tourists can be seen holding long guns and short cannons, photographing pond trees, flowers, birds, fish and insects in the park. In the dialogue session, Situ Gejin, an art consultant at the Bay Area Bookstore, took this scene to extend a question that people who study art and love art at present are generally concerned: Nowadays, we have many high-tech blessed photography equipment, which can shoot any picture seen by the human eye anytime and anywhere, so where is the irreplaceability of sketching?
Ding Songjian said that sketching is a universal way of aesthetic education, but also a way for creators to vent themselves, "When painting sketches, there is a process of creators consciously screening, there are some refinements, and there are some trade-offs. This requires a taste of art, but also a good expression of skills. ”
Ding Songjian believes that the cultivation of these abilities is not only good for the development of art, but also helps people improve their aesthetic taste and humanistic accomplishment, even if they are not engaged in art, the road ahead can be broader and more relaxed.
Lai Sun, an art consultant at bay area bookstore, also agreed, "Aesthetic education can play a protective role in life, and at any time you can use a paintbrush to burn the fire in your heart, maintain a childlike heart and true self, which is something that others can't take away." ”

After watching the exhibition, the famous art critic Pi Daojian said that Ding Songjian's paintings are cultured paintings. "President Ding uses the Western painting language and uses oil painting tools and materials as a medium, but the painting is full of the charm of our traditional Chinese culture, full of poetry and painting, inheriting our tradition of 'poetry in painting, painting in poetry', which makes me very moved."
