Shen Guangwei
Born in 1950 in Weifang, Shandong Province, he is a member of the China Artists Association, a professor and master tutor of Shandong Academy of Arts, an advisor of Shandong Artists Association, an honorary director of the Flower and Bird Painting Art Committee, a deputy director of the Art Committee of Shandong Painting Academy, a vice president of The Chinese Painting Society of Shandong Province, and an advisor of the Academic Committee of Chinese Painting in Shandong Province.

Alpine rhododendron is a painting subject that the ancients rarely expressed, and I paint alpine rhododendrons also have a process of continuous brewing. In the 1980s, I went to Huangshan To sketch for the first time to see the alpine rhododendron, and I was deeply impressed by the curved branches. Later, when I went to Huanglong and Jiuzhaigou to sketch goodbye to the alpine rhododendron, the flowering period had just passed, full of pity and desolation, and the shock of the soul made me unforgettable, and planted the seeds of painting it.
Alpine cuckoo sketches
In the past ten years, I have been many times, in the original forest of Hailuogou in western Sichuan, where the most characteristic alpine rhododendron grows, I have depicted the whole process of flower blossoming and falling, with buds, blooming, falling, growing and blooming indomitably, and every time I have the urge to express.

The ancient literati's chanting of the alpine cuckoo is tragic, sad and desolate, which is different from my understanding of the alpine cuckoo, and I am more touched by its bloom than its withering. Alpine rhododendrons grow in an extremely harsh environment, with branches either rushing straight up or hovering at the bottom of the valley, just to absorb more sunlight and moisture, which makes me see a longing for life and tenacity. The root system of the alpine rhododendron is not developed, and the nutrients are mainly stored by the leaves, so the leaves are large and thick, and at each flowering period, the leaves provide nutrients for the opening of the flowers and the maturity of the seeds, and then gradually droop and wither, this natural phenomenon reminds me of the greatness of the mother. This characteristic of the alpine cuckoo is exactly what art needs to express most, it is a celebration of life, a praise for eternity.

The branches of the alpine rhododendron are old and strong, thick and majestic, and there is a majestic atmosphere of life toward death, while the flowers and leaves are bright and quiet. The beauty of Ohno and the beauty of The Beauty of The Beauty are perfectly integrated, and the blackhead and the green clothes are held together, which is in line with my aesthetic ideals, and can also play my pen and ink strengths, so that I can enjoy the freedom of "being able to split the face of the head, but also to be clear and pure" in my creation. The combination of factors inspired my desire to create a series. Probably due to the difficulty of shu dao, the ancients rarely depicted the alpine cuckoo, which made me feel the necessity and difficulty of creation. I want to make an image for him, to preach god to him, to inspire both self-encouragement and re-encouragement.
