The Academy of Fine Arts High School is a resounding presence for the entire art world. It means solid basic skills and a more comprehensive cultivation of artistic qualities, which is different from the general short-term training courses, and many famous artists in history have come out of the annex. The same is true of the attached middle school of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and even some artists who have graduated from the attached high school have achieved a national reputation, which has become a certain "phenomenon of attached middle school". Nowadays, the entire social environment and the art situation at home and abroad have undergone great changes, and the attached middle school is bound to carry out some kind of "creative transformation", explore new understanding of art, and actively expand new development paths.
"Source - 2022 Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts Affiliated Middle School Teachers and Students Works Exhibition" may be regarded as a review of its development status in recent years. In my opinion, "source" may include several meanings. The first is to sort out the context of their own teaching. From the students' works, it can be seen that the basic structure of the basic courses, compulsory courses, elective courses and rural sketching courses in the attached middle school has been well inherited and constantly made new developments; while adhering to the solid basic skills training, it has a deeper understanding of emerging media and social practices.
Second, he has never given up his grasp and thinking about the "origin" of art education. We know that the attached middle school can not escape the pressure of further education in any way, and this pressure can easily make education alienated and deformed. However, from the perspective of the works of teachers and students in this exhibition, they grasp the fundamental elements of art education that focus on cultivating aesthetic ability, creativity and imagination, and do not fall into the stereotypical mode of routine and quick success. Students have strong independent thinking skills and have emerged in the systematic creation and design of contemporary social and life issues. The teachers' works also reflect an extremely rich appearance, realistic, expressive, abstract, and comprehensive internal and external influencing factors, and incorporate research on society, culture, art, etc., which has shown the form of an "art community" with cutting-edge consciousness.
The third means "living water at the source" and sends a steady stream of new forces to the Academy of Fine Arts. Outstanding graduates of affiliated high schools with comprehensive literacy enter art academies across the country and become young students at the undergraduate level and higher, as well as important members of artists and designers. In particular, they have also introduced art study abroad training programs to set courses and train students from an international perspective, and to send outstanding graduates abroad. To some extent, it can be said that the attached middle school of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts has become one of the platforms to help the growth of domestic and foreign art ecology.
Therefore, as far as the Attached High School of the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts is concerned, which is in a new stage of development, this exhibition has a nodal significance. It triggers us to rethink the history and current situation of the attached middle school, and also leads us to think: in today's world where the position of aesthetic education is further highlighted, the integration of art science, the integration of production and education, and cross-media have become an important trend, how should basic art education change with the times, so as to more organically merge into the tide of this era? I think that from this exhibition and the reflections that come with it, we may get some answers to these questions.

Exhibition Introduction
Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts Affiliated High School AIP is an innovative art education program that seamlessly connects British American and Italian undergraduates using its own original three-year art high school education system. Using art and design as a medium, students will develop imagination, sensitivity and creativity. At the same time, AIP's teachers always uphold the principle of student-centered education, leading students to explore themselves and understand the world.
This exhibition exhibits some of the outstanding teachers and students of the AIP British and American classes and the Italian class G10-G12 in recent years. The courses of the Anglo-American class focus on opening students' horizons, encouraging them to be open and experimental when creating; helping them find personal characteristics and develop good creative habits; exercising students' comprehensive creative ability through research, summary, reflection, planning, cooperation, practice and other dimensions, and becoming more inclusive and confident through creation, as well as a sense of social responsibility. The Attached High School Italian Class is a new class opened in 2019, and the Attached High School AIP, together with the Italian Twin Arts High School, has created the most suitable teaching system for students who aspire to study art in Italy.
A good education is inseparable from a good team of teachers. AIP's professional teachers have graduated from excellent art and design colleges abroad, and are also active in the field of art and design at home and abroad. By summarizing their learning experience and creative experience, they constantly update their teaching, bringing students rich and interesting courses and many interdisciplinary knowledge. They all have distinct personalities, interesting souls, and are good at finding the shining points of each student, helping them shine, accommodating students' changes, accompanying students' growth, and maintaining self-growth.
With the strong support of the Headquarters of the Affiliated Middle School of Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and the joint efforts of many outstanding teachers, the curriculum has been optimized and replaced for many years from the beginning of its establishment. As one of the members of China's basic art education, we hope to see students start their own growth from here, and gradually become a personality and excellent creator.
