On the third day of the new year, Lan Yexin, 30, called the police again and turned herself in, saying that she had "sold" her child.
"Can you please come to my house, because just now I called myself again, 110 let me wait at home, I don't know if this time will be accepted." On the afternoon of January 3, 2022, Lan Yexin sent a message to the Southern Weekend reporter. Half an hour later, she said she had been taken to the Xiaojingyu Criminal Police Team of the Wanbailin Branch of the Taiyuan Municipal Public Security Bureau.
A year ago, Lan Yexin turned herself in to the police for the first time and reported that her "traffic police husband abandoned her third child to protect her work." She hopes that public attention and police intervention will help her find the children she "sold". In March 2021, the Taiyuan police publicly reported the matter, saying that "the dispute caused by the child's adoption to others is a civil litigation matter, and the parties have been informed to file a lawsuit with the people's court."
Before the birth of the third child in June 2019, Lan Yexin's life experience can be clearly said in a few words: born in 1992, the president of the newspaper's family grew up, worked in a media in Shanxi, sold insurance, and was the mother of two boys. But with the birth of a third child, and separated from it, Lan Yexin gradually became a paranoid in the eyes of many people. "Crazy to find children, desperate." Her mother, Ye Jianping, said of her daughter.
"This doll can't be wanted"
Ye Jianping knew about her daughter when she was six and a half months pregnant. "This girl in my family is relatively fat, and she can't see it."
Before giving birth to Dabao, Lan Yexin only had more than eighty pounds. The child was born with a bad foundation, coupled with the fact that the mother had no milk, only ate milk powder, and was thin and small. When she became pregnant for the second time, Lan Yexin tried to eat more, "you have to eat to have milk", and her weight also reached the peak of her life.
At the urging of her husband Liu Guangzhong (pseudonym), when the second child was six months old, Lan Yexin began to lose weight and "took some diet pills." Hormone levels are unstable, menstruation is irregular, Lan Yexin thought it was a normal phenomenon of weight loss, but she did not expect to be pregnant with three children.
"When I knew, this kid was already big." Lan Yexin said that at that time, the fetus in the abdomen was about four months old.
She originally wanted to beat the child off, but saw the child's facial features in the B ultrasound. "I think it's all been this life, god let him stay."
But the husband disagreed. Lan Yexin said her husband, Liu Guangzhong, was once a grassroots police officer who was seconded to the office of the Shanxi Provincial Traffic Management Bureau in October 2016 and to the audit office of the provincial public security department in 2020.
Ye Jianping remembered that when the fetus was more than eight months old, Liu Guangzhong told her that this doll could not be wanted. "He said I was a civil servant and couldn't have three children, and I couldn't leave any information about him if I was born." It was around May 2019, and no one expected that the three-child policy would be fully liberalized in two years.
Ye Jianping thought that there was a relative in Qingxu County, "See if you can give birth to him in that place." She took her daughter and son-in-law to Qingxu County Hospital, and the son-in-law changed his previous appearance of "gentle kindness", was emotionally excited, had a strong tone, and asked for induction.
After listening to Liu Guangzhong's words, Ye Jianping remembered that her daughter did not express her position, and her face was full of fatigue and helplessness.
Lan Yexin and Liu Guangzhong belong to the "Marriage of Fengzi". When she accidentally became pregnant with Dabao in 2015, Lan Yexin originally wanted to beat the child off, but Liu Guangzhong did not answer the phone and could not be contacted, which angered her. She told Liu's parents about the incident and asked for a solution.
"After we (Lan Yexin's parents) divorced, this girl in my family has a strong personality, she knows that I am alone with her hard work, and she is not willing to let me know." Ye Jianping said that it was Liu Guangzhong's father who took the initiative to contact her to discuss the marriage of the two children, "saying that they are of marriageable age, the children are so old, and it is not good for the body to fight." ”
Ye Jianping was not satisfied with this son-in-law, feeling that he "refused to take responsibility", but Mu had become a boat and had to agree. Lan Yexin himself said that the decision to marry Liu Guangzhong was "very painful", but it was very hasty: "It took us a month in total to get married." ”
"It's hard to be happy when I'm married, it's not on a level in every way, but I'm actually trying to change myself." Lan Yexin said that she could not cook before, "at home the oil bottle poured did not help", but after marriage the housework is all undertaken by her.
Five years of married life, the young couple conceived two children. "Even if I'm pregnant, I'm willing to give a little more and balance this thing (family)." Lan Yexin said.
"Joint waiver of custody"
But the unexpectedly conceived third child and her husband's attitude toward the third child upset lan Yexin's careful balance.
After the doctor finished the B ultrasound, they told them that the child was already so old that induction of labor was "simply impossible". And the husband firmly disagreed to leave the third child, Lan Yexin had to obey the husband, agreeing to let others take the child away after giving birth. What she was thinking about at the time was that the two children in the family were "very small", the second was only more than one year old, and the original family could not be broken.
The relative of Qingxu said that he had a neighbor who had always wanted to hold a doll, and the conditions were good, and he wanted to see the child in the future. Lan Yexin thought that if he had to send it away, it would be better to hand over the child to someone who knew the roots. Relatives called the neighbors in, and the two sides reached a consensus.
On the night of Qingxu's return, Lan Yexin broke the water, and the child came a month early.
In order to conceal the child's identity information, this sudden production process is not smooth.
They had originally planned to register the child directly in the name of the adoptive mother with the identity card of the adopter. But this plan is not difficult to understand, the adopter is more than forty years old, Lan Yexin was only 27 years old at the time, "the photo on the ID is not like it."
The hospital does not accept women whose identity documents do not match, and the mother's family insists on not using their identity due to concerns about revealing their identity. At the time of the stalemate, according to Lan Yexin, Liu Guangzhong brought back a copy of a fake certificate, the document information was still adopted, and the photo was Lan Yexin's. "It's back in a few minutes, but it's fast."
On June 27, 2019, Lan Yexin gave birth to a baby boy at The Zhen'ai Maternity Hospital in Shanxi Province. But two or three days after being discharged from the hospital, the hospital found that the maternal information was wrong, and a nurse called Ye Jianping to the office and said: "You can't do this, if you violate the regulations, you still have to change it back." ”
With this change, the problem of the child's household registration could not be solved, the adopter was not happy, and the verbal agreement between the two sides broke down. Lying on the hospital bed, Lan Yexin was unable to find a way out, and it was all arranged by his family.
Not long after, someone found Lan Yexin's family and offered to raise the child.
Ye Jianping recalled that in an empty house in the hospital, she met her later adopter Zhou Jianye for the first time. After sitting down, Zhou Jianye took Ye Jianping's hand and talked about his situation: in his early forties, he was an English teacher, he had been married for many years without childbearing, his family conditions were good, and after holding this doll, he would definitely be good to the doll, would give him a good education, and would let him go abroad in the future.
Ye Jianping thought that the woman in front of her spoke softly and softly, and her age was also appropriate. Back in the ward, she gave feedback to her daughter and son-in-law and asked them to come up with an idea: "I can't take this responsibility for you, can I?" ”
According to Ye Jianping's recollection, Liu Guangzhong said at the time: "Okay, I can still go abroad in the future, but it is better than keeping up with us." Lan Yexin responded, not much of a sigh.
"When this child was given, I couldn't decide, I couldn't see it, I was actually desperate." I said as long as I was good to him, my heart was dead. Afterwards, Lan Yexin explained to the Southern Weekend reporter that he was helpless at that time.
The day before sending the child, Ye Jianping proposed to stop the child and leave the child to herself. Liu Guangzhong disagreed, and the two turned their faces and quarreled in the ward. Ye Jianping asked Liu Guangzhong to "write something, don't complain about me when the time comes." ”
In January 2022, Ye Jianping provided a handwritten note with a red fingerprint on the name and date to the Southern Weekend reporter, which read: "I, Liu Guangzhong and Lan Yexin, jointly gave up the custody of the child for both reasons, and this matter has nothing to do with others." ”

"I can't get by anyway"
On July 2, 2019, Zhou Jianye came to hold the child, carried a pocket, put 50,000 yuan in it, and stayed on the bed before leaving.
"I forgot about this process," Ye Jianping told Southern Weekend reporters, it was the police who intervened to check and reminded her, "When people said that they put (50,000 yuan) money on the bed when they came, they gave back 1,000 yuan, saying that they wanted to buy what to eat and what to buy." The 51,000 yuan "nutrition fee" later became the focus of controversy over whether the child was sent for adoption or bought and sold.
The child was sent away, and Lan Yexin was full of resentment towards her husband. According to Lan Yexin, when she was pregnant with her third child and hesitated to send them away, her husband said that if he insisted on leaving the third child, he would take the first two children away, "to ensure that you will not see them here."
Lan Yexin had the idea of divorce at that time, wanted to take away the two children, and raise them alone: "I think I will not go too long with him... Since we are already so dilapidated, sooner or later we will have to go to the point of divorce. ”
This even became the reason why she sent away her three children: "Anyway, it is too late, and this child does not have to suffer with the two of us." After the child was sent out, Lan Yexin kept convincing himself in his heart: "People are also sincere to him, and they can definitely live well." ”
Lan Yexin only had a face-to-face with Zhou Jianye in the ward, but she deliberately paid attention to each other's looks, "Because I paint, I can draw her." ”
When he came out of the hospital, Lan Yexin observed that all the local license plates were nearby, and speculated that the other party should be a native of Taiyuan. But when she heard the other party say "Lower Taiyuan" when she called, she could see that her home was north of Taiyuan City, and there were only three counties: Yangqu, Gujiao, and Loufu.
After returning home, Lan Yexin began searching the Internet for information on English teachers in Taiyuan. One day, she found a one-inch photo that looked like a adopter. After confirming with her mother, she followed the photo post page to find her identity information - Zhou Jianye, a high school teacher in Gujiao.
Knowing that the child was missing, Lan Yexin did not set out to look for the child at that time. "The child may be better off following her (Zhou Jianye) than I am, so I have not bothered her." Lan Yexin explained. It was not until a year and a half later that the relevant departments of the Shanxi Provincial Public Security Department intervened in the investigation.
The investigation stemmed from Lan Yexin's real-name report on her husband in the second half of 2020.
She told the media that since the third child was sent, Liu Guangzhong always suspected that she had someone outside, and the child was not his own. Lan Yexin said that he was subjected to domestic violence, and the emergency medical record of the First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University in August 2019 showed that "the patient was beaten last night and caused multiple pains, swellings, and limited mobility throughout the body", and the diagnosis was "multiple soft tissue injuries throughout the body".
The contradictions between the husband and wife gradually intensified and began to separate. Lan Yexin regretted sending her third child and hoped that her husband would get the child back, but did not get support. Therefore, she reported to her husband's unit, saying that he abandoned his children and committed domestic violence, and also posted a report under his real name on the Internet.
Liu Guangzhong told the cover news reporter in February 2021 that Lan Yexin's situation reflected online was untrue, and as a public official, he did not want to respond, and the truth had been reported to the unit. "This matter is a private matter, and it is already going through the divorce process, and I don't want to occupy public space resources because of these private matters."
Liu Guangzhong did file a divorce lawsuit with the Yingze District Court of Taiyuan City in January 2021, requesting a divorce order, with the eldest son raised by him and the second son raised by Lan Yexin. He said that he and Lan Yexin often quarreled, and Lan Yexin posted information slandering him and his parents on the Internet and petitioned in his unit, which led to his being investigated by the unit and seriously affected his work.
Lan Yexin, who had thought of divorce, expressed to the court at this time that he did not agree to the divorce, nor did he agree that the eldest son would be raised by Liu Guangzhong. She told Southern Weekend reporters that the condition for divorce was that Liu Guangzhong cooperated with her to find her third child, and Liu failed to meet. In February 2021, the court dismissed Liu Guangzhong's divorce claim, saying that the evidence he provided "could not prove that the feelings between the original defendants had indeed broken down."
As of press time, Liu Guangzhong did not reply to the southern weekend reporter's visit information. On January 8, 2022, a southern weekend reporter visited Liu Guangzhong's home, and a woman denied that it was Liu's home after learning of the reporter's intentions, but her neighbor confirmed that the address was correct.
The two children live with Lan Yexin, and in their eyes, Liu Guangzhong is still a good father. They pointed to the toy car at home and told Southern Weekend: "This is all bought by Dad." ”
Looking for a son
Nearly a year and a half after giving away her third child, Lan Yexin went to look for a adopter for the first time.
It was November 23, 2020, "My husband suddenly called me and said you know where this child is, you hurry to find this child, and now the provincial office is looking into this matter." Liu Guangzhong hopes that she can unify her voice with the adopter, saying that the child is "foster" rather than "foster", and the Liu family will give 1500 yuan per month.
At this time, the relationship between the two has been stuck in a stalemate due to Lan Yexin's report. But she did so at her husband's request, because her primary goal was to find the children. Later, she also learned that her husband's unit required a paternity test for the child.
Seeing Zhou Jianye, Lan Yexin came up and asked, "Did you take a child away?" Zhou Jianye looked surprised, thinking that the other party was going to "blackmail." The two sides communicated briefly.
Wait until December 2020 to contact again, Zhou Jianye "did not answer the phone, text messages did not return." Lan Yexinto's friend found Zhou's registered address, and when he came to the door, a big lady walking her dog in the courtyard said, "The person you are looking for does not live here at all... She has a son who is already so old, how old are you, and you say that her son is yours. ”
On January 6, 2022, Southern Weekend reporters came to the place, and neighbors confirmed that the Zhou couple had a son. Across the unit door, a man who called himself Zhou Jianye's son told Southern Weekend reporters that he had not seen his mother for a long time, "She had a conflict with my father, and then went out." ”
He also said he was 21 years old and had never heard of his mother raising a child from someone else, "I didn't even know about it."
Where does Zhou Jianye, who moved out, live? Lan Yexin also found Zhou Jianye's school and inquired about it from teacher to teacher. A teacher told her that Zhou might live in a neighborhood. It was a large community of tens of thousands of people, with a large number of buildings. She asked from house to house, "Is there an English teacher, until she asked about Zhou's real residence—a self-built house by the mountain, one room and one living room.
Zhou Jianye was not at home. Through the window, Lan Yexin saw Zhou's photo, but there was no trace of children's life in the house. At one or two o'clock that night, Ye Jianping received a call from her daughter, who cried and asked, "Mom, where did you give the doll?" Why isn't this doll in this place? ”
Finding out that Zhou Jianye, who took the child, may not be the real caregiver, Lan Yexin was in a hurry, called the police for the first time, thought he had "sold the child", and wanted the police to help retrieve it.
At the end of January 2021, she received a text message with a tone that looked suspicious of the child's adopter. "Hello ladies! You have repeatedly harassed us, intimidated and cursed us, it is too much! What are we doing wrong? The sender wrote that he had never seen Lan Yexin, "Only seen the child's grandmother and little aunt, if you are the child's mother, you will call those two to us for an interview, they let us take the child... Kids weren't stolen by us! ”
In January 2022, southern weekend reporters dialed the above number and could not be connected; dialed Zhou Jianye's number, and the woman who answered the call claimed to be Zhou's friend and said that the adoption of the child was agreed upon by both sides.
"After two years of holding and raising her so big, you are now looking back." Selling things, going back, isn't that sick? The woman accused Lan Yexin of rebelling on the phone and repeatedly asking for children, causing great trouble to Zhou Jianye, "You are a mother, don't you think the child is pitiful? You have given it to others, just live well in other people's homes, and everyone has raised feelings. ”
"Am I not breaking the law?"
For Lan Yexin's first self-surrender in January 2021, two months later, the Wanbailin Branch of the Taiyuan Municipal Public Security Bureau issued a notice saying that after verification, the two had given birth to a third child in violation of the Population and Family Planning Law of the People's Republic of China while having two children, and due to economic burden difficulties, the husband and wife agreed to send the child to others for adoption, and at the same time collected 51,000 yuan of nutrition fees, hospitalization fees and other expenses paid by the adopter through the intermediary.
"Liu xxx and Lan xxx had a physical conflict due to family conflicts, liu xxx has apologized to Lan xxx in public, and got Lan xx's forgiveness; Liu xxx and Lan xxx illegally gave birth to a third child and secretly sent someone to adopt it, and has been hiding the truth from both units, and after a year and a half, because the relationship between the husband and wife deteriorated, Lan xxx began to report Liu xx." The circular said that the two people illegally gave birth to three children, the health department is further investigating, "Liu xx's unit high-speed traffic police detachment will be seriously dealt with in accordance with discipline and regulations." Disputes arising from the adoption of a child to another person are civil litigation matters, and the parties have been informed to file a lawsuit with the people's court. ”
In August 2021, Lan Yexin sued Zhou Jianye in the Gujiao Court, demanding that Zhou Jianye return the child and the custody of the child, but failed to file a case. The Gujiao court informed Lan Yexin that "the plaintiff's subject is incomplete and requires the husband and wife to jointly sue"; but Liu Guangzhong said that he was "unwilling to agree with the plaintiff and let the plaintiff sue on his own".
A civil ruling of the Gujiao Court dated September 26, 2021 shows that Lan Yexin sued the adopter to return the child, because the child was jointly sent by Lan Yexin and Liu Guangzhong, so Lan Yexin and Liu Guangzhong should claim their rights together, and now Lan Yexin has filed a lawsuit, which is not accepted by this court.
Lan Yexin insisted that the matter was not an ordinary civil dispute. On January 3, 2022, she once again turned herself in to the police, saying that she was "selling" her children illegally.
She was taken to the Xiaojingyu Criminal Police Team of the Wanbailin Branch. The officer found out that she was reporting the crime for the second time, and after learning about the situation with the criminal police team that investigated the matter last time, lan Yexin was released on the same day.
"Am I not breaking the law?" Lan Yexin asked. The police officer of the Xiaojingyu Criminal Police Team said that he would report to the higher public security department and give a reply.
Southern Weekend reporters submitted an interview request, and the police officer of the Xiaojingyu Criminal Police Team also said that he had to contact the higher public security department, but as of press time, he had not responded.
In the view of Zhang Shaoxing, a partner at Guangdong Jinqiao Baixin Law Firm, the key to whether the matter is abduction or de facto adoption lies in whether it can be proved that Zhou Jianye gave the "nutrition fee". He explained that under the Adoption Act, only adoptions registered with the Civil Affairs Department could be legally recognized. "First, you (Lan Yexin) did not register for adoption; second, the nature of the money involved may be different."
But Zhang Shaoxing also pointed out that in reality, such transactions are usually cash transactions with no transfer records. "To be honest, if you use cash, it's hard to prove that someone gave it."
If the "nutrition fee" cannot be proved and does not constitute the crime of child abduction, Zhang Shaoxing believes that the matter involves more illegal and factual adoption.
Child abduction is a criminal offence, while unlawful adoption is a matter of civil litigation. Zhang Shaoxing said that the birth parents can demand that the adopter "return" the child through a civil lawsuit, and the court confirms the parent-child relationship and moves the child's hukou back to the birth parent's name.
Zhang Shaoxing also believes that the parents are the guardians of the child and do not need joint consent to exercise guardianship rights. "Therefore, the handling of the (Gujiao) court is inappropriate, and she can still go through legal procedures to defend her rights."
"After the child is given to someone, her personality is different from before." Ye Jianping said. Lan Yexin became tough and paranoid, defining herself as a "child seller" in various rights protection channels to get back the children who were "sold". She also went to Gujiao to guard Zhou Jianye's relatives and pasted a large poster with the words "Zhou Jianye is a human trafficker" on the other side's door.
Lan Yexin always wondered where her third child was and whether she was doing well. The first two children and their husbands are surnamed Liu, and their nicknames are "Dabao" and "Erbao". When the third child was first born, she called him "Three Treasures" in the hospital room. She looked at the eyebrows of the Three Treasures, which were very similar to the Second Treasure.
She did not know The name of Sanbao on the household registration book. If there is still a chance, she wants Sanbao to follow her, surnamed Lan.
