In fact, the first 27 years of Gao Song's life had nothing to do with pilots at all. None of my family, or even my relatives or friends, had ever been involved in flying-related industries.
After graduating from the former Chinese People's Armed Police Force College in 2016, Gao Song entered the Laoshan Fire Rescue Brigade and has been engaged in fire investigation work, in Gao Song's own words, "In the fire investigation industry has been relatively handy." ”

"I've loved flying since I was a kid and I've always thought piloting is a very cool profession." Perhaps out of fear of danger, or concern about uncharted territory, the family did not approve of Gao Song's decision at first. "In addition to the danger, the family is also worried that having mastered a skill, it will be difficult to go into an industry that has never been exposed to before." But I felt at the time that after all, it was my dream, and it was also the life I had always wanted to touch. ”
Stemming from her yearning for the sky, Gao Song took the initiative to participate in the registration and became the first pilot selected for the Qingdao Fire Rescue Detachment in 2018, and the only girl.
Stay up late every day until two or three o'clock in the morning and learn 13 professional flight courses in half a year

"At the time of selection, considering that the profession we will engage in in the future is mainly rescue, so at that time, the physical examination of civil aviation and military aviation was combined, which was very strict and eliminated many people." After layers of selection, Gao Song stayed until the end and was sent to the Civil Aviation Flight Academy of China in Sichuan to learn flight theory for half a year.

"These 13 courses are all related to flying, I have never been exposed to it before, and all I have learned is the principle of aviation, the principle of mechanics, which is actually quite difficult for a girl."
As soon as I got started, I encountered serious challenges. In order to complete these 13 courses in a short period of time, Gao Song could only choose to stay up late and work overtime every day, breaking the time of the day into two days. "I feel like I'm never running out of time, 24 hours a day, and I wish I could have 48 hours for myself." Basically, I have to stay up late every day, and it is early until two or three in the morning. Gao Song said that for 6 months, she basically did not go to bed earlier than two o'clock in the morning.
Stay up late every day to study, and you can't delay the daytime course the next day. "There are eight lessons during the day, each 45 minutes long, and the efficiency of these eight lessons must be guaranteed." In the end, by doubling down on his efforts, Gao Song passed all the exams with excellent results.
I can make up for it, and I can do what boys can do
After passing the theoretical level and finally getting into contact with helicopters, Gao Song found that theoretical knowledge was not the most difficult.
"When it comes to actual operation, there is a feeling of inadequacy. Although I understand and know how to do many principles and operating techniques, I can't do them when I actually do them. This made Gao Song particularly anxious, but the more anxious he was, the worse the operation became, and he fell into a vicious circle.
Hovering, this is the first technique that Gao Song first learned when he first started, and it also made Gao Song pay the most sweat. "A lot of people think that helicopters are more difficult to operate when they fly. In fact, it is not, when the helicopter hovers, it is the most difficult, so that the aircraft is fixed at a certain height. ”
Because the helicopter's operating lever is very sensitive, if the force is too large, it is easy to cause the fuselage to shake continuously. If there are lifeguards below, it may cause injuries to personnel, and heavy may lead to helicopter accidents. When hovering, the wind, wind speed and other climatic environments are different every time, and these data are also changing all the time, which requires flexible adjustment through the control lever.
"Girls' operational ability and coordination are slightly worse than boys' behavior, and many technical boys can master it in 5 hours (flight time), and I have to spend one or two hours more than them to master." Because there was only one girl, afraid that if she fell behind too much, she would be eliminated, and Gao Song, who was impatient, had to go to the instructor for advice.

Finally, after a week of hard work, she mastered the hovering technique. In the end, when the flight time was 5 hours, he successfully passed the examination.
In July 2019, Gao Song flew solo for the first time, and she still remembers the situation at that time.
"It was really uncomfortable at the time. Originally, our cockpit was two aircraft seats, and there were instructors around all the time. Although he will not help you operate, as long as he has a bottom in his heart. Gao Song said that on the day of the solo flight, her passenger seat was a sandbag.
"When I took off, I suddenly saw that there was no one next to me, and my heart was still panicked, and I really realized that I had to fly the plane alone." Gao Song said that when flying the first lap, it was more panic and nervousness, and he kept a close eye on the dashboard and looked at the engine data, afraid that there would be any failures that could not be dealt with.
