Later, he took refuge in Jingzhou with Shi Guangyuan of the same county, and had close contact with Sima Hui, Zhuge Liang, and Cui Zhouping.
In the second year of Chuping, due to Dong Zhuo's rebellion, Jingzhou was full of troops, and Xu Shu, in order to avoid the chaos, went south to Jingzhou with his friend Shi Guangyuan of the same county.
After arriving in Jingzhou, Xu Shu visited famous teachers, got to know famous scholars, and had close contacts with Sima Hui, Zhuge Liang, and Cui Zhouping, who were quite talented at that time.
When Liu Bei was defeated by Cao Cao and garrisoned in Xinye, Xu Shu went to defect, and after Liu Bei saw Xu Shu, he admired his talent and valued him very much.
Later, he recommended his friend Zhuge Liang to Liu Bei, and only then did he have the later Three Gu Maolu and three divisions of the world.
On the Internet, it is falsely rumored that Xu Shu only recommended Zhuge Liang when he left Liu Bei, and previously because he was jealous of Zhuge Liang's talent and did not want to be a courtier with Zhuge Liang.
In fact, it was not the case, Xu Shu had not yet arrived at the Battle of Changshanpo when he recommended Zhuge Liang.
As we all know, Zhuge Lianglong lives in seclusion, often comparing himself to Guan Zhong and Le Yi, and there are heroes and talents in his chest. At that time, Liu Bei could not get into Zhuge Liang's eyes, and Xu Shu, who was a good friend, also knew this.

Later, Cao Cao led a large army to the south, Liu Bei led the crowd to flee, and was chased by Cao Cao's army at Changbanpo in Dangyang, Xu Shu's mother was captured by Cao Cao's army, and Xu Shu had to bid farewell to Liu Bei and enter Cao's camp in order to save his mother.
