A few days ago, Dongfeng Motor announced the official establishment of Dongfeng High-end New Energy Off-road Vehicle Project, namely Dongfeng M Division, which is another high-end electric brand created by Dongfeng Motor after Lantu Automobile, which will fill the market gap of high-end new energy off-road vehicles in mainland China.
Judging from the official 4S effect trailer, the new brand is suspected to be named "Maverick".
It is worth noting that the "Warrior" is also a classic hardcore off-road vehicle under Dongfeng, so it is not excluded that Dongfeng will use the name of this classic model to name the brand, just as Volkswagen will independently take the Jetta as a brand.
The project is positioned as a high-end new energy off-road brand, facing a personalized high-end user group, with the brand concept of "fearless and conquest", developing a new MORV electric off-road vehicle platform, differentiating the layout, and exploring the construction of a high-end off-road cultural circle.
It is understood that the new project factory has begun construction on January 18, the project covers an area of 485 acres, including advanced intelligent manufacturing center, off-road base, headquarters office and commercial exhibition center three major plates. With a total construction area of 96,000 square meters, the new welding workshop, painting workshop, assembly workshop, test center and experience center, off-road experience track and test track and other supporting facilities. The project has a planned production capacity of 100,000 units and is scheduled to start production in 2023.
