In 1940, she moved with Liang Sicheng to Lizhuang, and in order to escape the war, she continued to engage in architectural research and creation, and Lin Huiyin chose to accompany Fu Sinian's Historical Language Institute.
The "Construction Society" founded by Lin Huiyin and Liang Sicheng and the Shiyu Institute of Fu Sinian are different departments, and the reason why they were relocated together is because the Shiyu Institute took away a large number of documents and books with them.
However, when he arrived in Lizhuang, Lin Huiyin immediately regretted that the environment here was very different from the noise of the city.

Long-distance fatigue coupled with a harsh environment directly led to Lin Hui's recurrence of tuberculosis. With no money, no medicine or even no nutritional guarantee, Lin Huiyin had to stay up for two years.
It was not until 1942 that Fu Sinian asked for help three times to raise money for help, and he barely saved Lin Huiyin's life. His life was saved, but he still did not recover from the disease.
02 Suffer with the motherland
The intellectuals who have left their homes have the same fate: a life of upheaval and displacement, coupled with eight years of exile from war, makes Lin Hui look haggard and old in his prime, like a candle in the wind.
When the news of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan reached Lin Huiyin's ears, she was extremely surprised by her haggard face.
In 1945, Lin Hui, because of his illness, wrote a letter to his close friend Fei Weimei, who was far away from home:
"What bothers me is that it's a little worse than before, especially the sharp pain in the bladder area, which may already be very serious."
Even in the midst of illness, Lin Huiyin still did not give up her academic research and thinking. Insisted on writing the long-brewed academic paper "Modern Housing Reference".
In November of the same year, Lin Huiyin, accompanied by Liang Sicheng, left Lizhuang by boat for Chongqing for physical treatment. This time, for the first time in five years, she had left the mountain where she was sick.
Liang Sicheng specially invited a famous American thoracic surgeon Leo in Chongqing at that time. Eloisel examines it. The result made everyone regret: Lin Huiyin's two lungs and one kidney were already infected, and he would not live for more than five years at most.

Another reason why Lin Hui did not want to go to Li Zhuang was to say goodbye to his best friend, and it was 6 years after seeing him again.
Despite her illness, Lin Hui has always been determined and confident about China's prospects and the future of the nation as a whole.
In a letter to Fei Weimei, she wrote:
We are all old, we have all had the experience of poverty and illness, endured long wars and the isolation of letters, and now face the rise and difficult future of great nations, our bodies have been seriously damaged, but our faith remains the same.
When the late people meet each other, they inevitably remember their homeland, and now the feeling of "the country is broken in the mountains and rivers, and the grass and trees in the spring of the city" not only touches everyone.
In July of the same year, Lin Huiyin and his wife returned to Beiping by plane with Jin Yuelin and others, nine years after their last departure.
After years of destruction by the Japanese, Beiping is now devastated. The city is still that city, but the people are much older.
04 Escape from death
In 1947, Lin Hui had to be surgically removed due to the invasion of tuberculosis bacteria into the kidneys. Years of illness made Lin Huiyin at that time have no hope for his body at all.
Before being admitted to the hospital, she left a suicide note to Fei Weimei: "Goodbye, dear Weimei", leaving many sad words together.
As a result, the operation was particularly successful, and Lin Hui escaped from death, but his health has always been warm and hot.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Lin Huiyin once again took up the teaching work of Tsinghua University, and also served as a member of the Beijing Municipal Urban Planning Committee and a member of the Construction Committee of the Monument to the People's Heroes.
Her deteriorating body did not affect her work in any way, but rather inspired her spirit even more.
In the same year, Lin Huiyin was elected as a deputy to the First People's Congress of Beijing municipality and the National Cultural Congress, and participated in the design of the national emblem of new China and the monument to the people's heroes.
At that time, Lin Huiyin proudly said: "From this time on, I really threw myself into the new transformation and construction as Lin Huiyin myself, not "Mrs. Liang". ”
05 No more earthly April days
In 1954, Lin Hui's condition deteriorated, he was almost completely incapacitated, and there was no longer a trace of blood on his face.
Liang Sicheng became ill with overwork, coupled with the worry about his wife's condition, his body finally could not bear it, and he and Lin Huiyin entered tongren Hospital together to accompany the treatment.
Looking at his wife's withered body, Liang Sicheng muttered to himself, "Suffer..."
At this time, Lin Huiyin, who only had a hint of consciousness, knew that his limit was approaching. She refused to take medicine and only wanted to get rid of the pain and suffering of illness once she died.
On the evening of March 31, 1955, when Lin Huiyin was dying, she told the nurse in a weak voice that he wanted to see Liang Sicheng for the last time and had something to say.
The arrogant nurse rejected her with "it's late at night, I'll talk about it tomorrow." At 20:00 a.m. the next morning, Lin Huiyin died at the age of 51.
Unfortunately, at the last moment of her life, what she wanted to say to Liang Sicheng became a mystery for eternity.
According to the agreement between Lin Huiyin and Liang Sicheng, "after the deceased designed the tomb for the other party", Liang Sicheng personally designed the tomb for his wife and buried her in the Babaoshan Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery.
His former best friend Jin Yuelin wrote in the Bang Lian: "A poetic Thousand Waterfalls, a four-month day on earth." ”
