Why did the warlord Sheng Shicai arrest his sister-in-law and mother-in-law and torture them with rare torture?

In the chaotic era of the Republic of China, what is different from ordinary people to be a warlord, especially a warlord in Xinjiang?

Sheng Shicai replied with practical actions: capricious, vicious and ruthless, indiscriminate killing of innocents...

Warlord Road

In 1930, at the age of 35, Sheng Shicai served as the chief of the third section of the first department of the Nanjing General Staff Headquarters.

In the institutions in Nanjing at that time, people who could eat openly had 2 characteristics: Jiangsu and Zhejiang nationality; there was a small circle.

And Sheng Shi was a native of Liaoning Kaiyuan, not even a Member of the Kuomintang, let alone a small circle; the education was high, and the graduates of Meiji University in Tokyo and the Japanese Army University became a reason for being ostracized and ridiculed by their colleagues.

Moreover, relying on his salary alone, the family lived in Nanjing, which was very embarrassing and the door was cold.

He has always had a high self-esteem, ambition, and unwillingness to be subordinated, and he does not want to go on like this.

Just at this time, Jin Shuren, chairman of Xinjiang Province and inspector of border defense, sent Secretary General Lu Xiaozu to Nanjing and Shanghai to recruit military talents.

Sheng Shicai was determined to try his luck in Xinjiang.

In the autumn of 1930, Sheng Shicai dragged his family with his mouth, borrowed 500 yuan and traveled thousands of miles from Manchuria to Dihua in Xinjiang via Siberia.

Why did the warlord Sheng Shicai arrest his sister-in-law and mother-in-law and torture them with rare torture?

Three years later, Sheng Shicai's adventure was a great success, from the fallen section chief of Nanjing to the governor of Xinjiang, and the lieutenant general of the army added the rank of general to monopolize the military and political power in Xinjiang.

Sheng Shicai's rise to power is inseparable from the support of the Soviet Union.

With the direct support of the Soviet Red Army, Sheng Shicai defeated Zhang Peiyuan and Ma Zhongying and began the road of warlords who ruled Xinjiang for more than 11 years.

Once the power was in his hands and the heights were cold, the golden age became full of doubts about anyone.

Sheng Shicai's innate shortcomings are really prominent. The disadvantage of having no background in the Kuomintang and no connections or connections in Xinjiang made him extremely insecure and on the lookout for others.

At night, when you go to bed, keep the machine gun by your side; all the paper pieces of paper, lock in the safe. Eat until the guards taste first, and then move the chopsticks after half an hour.

He concocted 6 major and dozens of small so-called "conspiracy and rebellion cases", eradicated a number of political enemies and dissidents, and executed more than 50,000 conspirators, or more than 100,000 people, including his younger brother-in-law Yu Xiusong and classmate Du Chongyuan, firmly holding the power in his palm.

At the same time, under the turbulent international situation, he constantly played with his wrist between Moscow and Chongqing, walked a tightrope, rebelled, turned clouds and rain, and repeatedly speculated successfully.

Why did the warlord Sheng Shicai arrest his sister-in-law and mother-in-law and torture them with rare torture?

In June 1941, the Soviet-German War broke out, and the situation suddenly changed.

The Soviet Union was caught off guard by Nazi Germany's Blitzkrieg, more than 2 million Soviet troops were captured, millions of square kilometers of land fell, and the Soviet Union was confused.

After some deliberation, Sheng Shicai believed that it was only a matter of time before the Soviet Union fell to power, and that it would be a matter of time before it died, so he decided to break with the Soviet Union and completely fall to the side of Chiang Kai-shek.

What excuse do you have?

Why did the warlord Sheng Shicai arrest his sister-in-law and mother-in-law and torture them with rare torture?

Sheng Shiqi was assassinated

Sheng Shi has 5 younger brothers and two younger sisters. Ranked fourth among his brothers, Sheng Shiqi studied at the Moscow Red Army University for 4 years, and after returning to China, he served as the head of the guard regiment of the Xinjiang Supervision Office and the brigade commander of the army mechanized brigade.

On March 19, 1942, in the evening, in the south garden of the Office of the Governor," in the home of Sheng Shiqi, there was a sudden "bang" of a gunshot.

Only to see Sheng Shiqi fall on the bedroom floor, already dead, the right temple is a mess, obviously the warhead shot in from here, and then from the left side.

Why did the warlord Sheng Shicai arrest his sister-in-law and mother-in-law and torture them with rare torture?

Sheng Shiji was assassinated and killed, which immediately shook the whole territory.

The guards, police departments, and public security management offices of the Xinjiang Supervision Office carried out on-site investigations and investigations overnight.

Eight hours later, Sheng Shiqi's wife, Chen Xiuying, was detained for interrogation.

Sheng Shicai personally interrogated, used all kinds of torture, and even "lit the sky lamp" with cotton sauce on his nipples. Chen Xiuying, who had been tortured to death and lived to life, finally "confessed" and admitted that she had committed adultery with Xiao Zuoxin and Ma Jin, managers of the Xinjiang Native Products Company, together with Yao Zhizhong, the successor of Sheng Shicai's father-in-law Qiu Zongjun, and then, through the two of them, committed adultery with Soviet officers, and at their behest, shot sheng shiqi.

Yao Zhizhong was immediately arrested and also tortured and interrogated.

The next day, the Dihua newspaper reported the incident with the headline "The Great International Conspiracy" on the front page. Claiming that Chen Xiuying had committed adultery with a Soviet officer, and that at the instigation of Soviet adviser Ratov and Soviet Consul General in Xinjiang Bakurin, "killing her husband" was a "complicated conspiracy and rebellion case of an international character." On this grounds, 656 suspects, including department chiefs, local administrative chiefs, and military attachés, were arrested and 88 people were executed.

Chen Xiuying and Yao Zhizhong were both executed.

In June 1942, Sheng Shicai telegraphed Chiang Kai-shek that he was willing to submit to Chongqing wholeheartedly.

Is Chen Xiuying a real murderer?

Chen Xiuying's conviction was based entirely on a handwritten confession she wrote.

However, within the Xinjiang Supervision Office and the police and public security management offices, many people have objections to this case.

First, there are obvious traces of penmanship and fabrication in the confession.

Second, from the perspective of chen xiuying and Sheng Shiqi's marital feelings, it is unreasonable.

Sheng Shiqi married Chen Xiuying in Dihua in 1937, at the age of nearly 36.

Born in 1901, Sheng Shiqi has long reached the age of marriage, due to his high vision, he has been single until he met Chen Xiuying, a student of Dihua Girls' High School, and saw that she was born in Xiangmendi, born beautiful, dignified in character, excellent academic performance, and could not help but fall in love at first sight.

The two have always had a harmonious relationship after marriage, and there have been no quarrels and fights.

People around him said that Sheng Shiqi was very dignified, decent, respectful of his wife and family, and also cared about his subordinates and soldiers in the army, and his reputation has always been very good.

Chen Xiuying has an excellent husband and young children, why should she kill her husband? Even if someone seduces and instigates and threatens, it will never succeed.

Why did the warlord Sheng Shicai arrest his sister-in-law and mother-in-law and torture them with rare torture?

In the same way, why did the Soviet Union instruct Chen Xiuying to kill Sheng Shiqi?

Sheng Shiqi stayed in Suzhou for many years and was friendly to Su. His mechanized brigade, both in terms of equipment supply and military training, was fully supported by the Soviet Union.

For such an important pro-Soviet military figure in Xinjiang, why did Ratov, Bakurin and others harm him?

The real culprit is a prosperous talent

To find out the origin of this case, we must start from the relationship between Sheng Shiqi and Sheng Shicai.

In early 1942, when the Soviet-German war was in full swing, Sheng Shiqi proposed that the Xinjiang Mechanized Brigade participate in the operation against the German army as a sign of support for the Soviet Union's resistance to the Nazis.

This frightens the world!

At this time, Sheng Shicai had already decided to change the court, break with the Soviet Union, and move closer to Chiang Kai-shek.

Those who have the ability and intention to stop him, in Xinjiang, are only Sheng Shiqi!

If his mechanized brigade joined forces with the men and horses of the old Eighth Regiment of the Soviet Union stationed in Xinjiang, Sheng Shicai would have three heads and six arms, and he would not be able to deal with it.

Moreover, Sheng Shi found that the third brother's self-assertion was becoming more and more out of line.

Sheng Shicai, who has always been suspicious of gods and ghosts and prevented problems before they occur, can only be ruthless in order to get rid of the serious troubles in his heart.

Why did the warlord Sheng Shicai arrest his sister-in-law and mother-in-law and torture them with rare torture?

In the eyes of some people, brotherhood is deep, and it is impossible for Sheng Shicai to kill Sheng Shiqi, and it is impossible to do so.

In fact, for a warlord like Sheng Shicai, all family affection and friendship are nothing in the trade-off of his monopoly on Xinjiang.

At that time, the commentaries and articles in the newspapers and periodicals all added the titles of fierce strongman, chaotic demon king, chameleon, and two-faced man to the head of Sheng Shicai. And analyzed that Sheng Shicai used this to achieve "one arrow and three eagles":

One excludes the afflictions of the heart;

The second was used as an excuse for a break with the Soviet Union;

The three used this to submit a letter of surrender to Chiang Kai-shek.

For the sake of personal power, he did not hesitate to kill brothers and performed the tragedy of brothers' walls, which has always written an ugly stroke in the history of Sheng Shicai.
