Renault Group will sell 2.7 million vehicles worldwide in 2021

From the perspective of Renault Group's brands, although the sales of brands such as Dacia (3.1%) and Lada (0.3%) have increased, the sales volume of Renault brands has decreased by 5.3% year-on-year.

The Renault brand is strengthening its position in the European electric vehicle market. In 2021, the E-TECH series (electric and hybrid) will account for 30% of Renault's passenger car sales in Europe, compared to 17% in 2020. Renault Arkana has returned the brand to the C-segment, with the E-TECH series accounting for 56% of its sales.

The renewal of the Dacia brand series of models has been a success, especially driven by the New Sandero. The New Sandero remains the most popular model for European retail consumers. With a retail market share of 6.2%, the brand has climbed to third place.

The Lada brand continues to lead the Russian market with a market share of nearly 21%. Lada Vesta and Rada Granta occupy nos. 1 and 2 respectively in the country's sales charts.

The Alpine brand will see sales increase by 74 percent to 2,659 units in 2021 and plans to continue to grow in international markets.

From a market perspective, Renault said that at present, in its five major European countries (France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom), Renault's retail sales market share is 58%, an increase of 6 percentage points from before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019.

In 2021, Renault's backlog of orders in Europe doubled year-on-year, equivalent to more than three months of sales, driven by strong demand for renault's E-TECH series, light commercial vehicles, Dacia Sandero and Dacia Spring electric vehicles. At the same time, Renault's auto inventory fell by about 30% year-on-year.

Under the leadership of CEO Luca de Meo, Renault has entered the field of electric vehicles with its automotive counterparts around the world. Renault said the company is advancing a sales policy launched in the third quarter of 2020, which will increase its share of the most profitable segments.

In addition, Group Renault confirmed that it will achieve its corporate average fuel economy target (passenger cars and light commercial vehicles) by 2021.
